I'm probably more interested in seeing whether or not there'll be many reports of technical difficulties (ie. what works fine on one machine won't run on a similar machine). Perhaps I'm mistaken, but this demo release might be an even better tool than any alpha or beta testing for getting information of this kind, and dealing with it accordingly.

Definitely. Actually, there were a few serious memory management problems with this demo a few days ago, resulting in choppyness/audio stuttering/freezing and even crashing.  This bug existed way back in November 2005 even when we gave the demo to VU, but there was no time to fix it back then.  It was then solved by Petter early this year, but wasn't able to make it into the demo at first (since Petter went on vacation this month ). 

I am very pleased that one of our Script Programmers (Jeff) has applied this bugfix yesterday, just in time for the public release.  And as a result, I don't believe anyone should experience any major problems, not to mention the demo feels like it has way more higher quality.

Anyway, we're getting off-topic.   What I wanted to say is that the Java client was having problems with the hyphen in the IRC channel, so I've now switched it to #tslgame.  Those of you entering via http://www.tsl-game.com/chat/ will have no problems, but those entering using other IRC clients will need to correct their channels.

As a note, I have known about this project for a couple of years (even applied for a position back in 2003).  I've been lurking, keeping tabs on the project and I am extremely excited about today's event.

Sadly I am on a dialup connection so no downloading the public demo... but that's ok.  I know there'll be new screenshots and whatnot.

Anyway, awesome work on this.  I can't tell you how happy I am to have seen this project grow over the years.

The demo is going to be released today. You can get it off the site when it's released, much like the screenshots and music from last year's chat.

I believe they're announcing the link to get the demo in Chamber, but that doesn't mean that they won't announce it on the forums as well. Why would the team deprive fans who couldn't make it to Chamber because of their schedules, internet connections, and such?
