Epic

I'm really excited about the plot of TSL, and how it might be a true epic, and this really is awesome. KQ has never reached this level, and it should have. My personal standard for ''epic'', in a mythological fantasy context, is the film Excalibur, with the most memorable scene in any film (for me) is watching as the revived Arthur and his knights ride for the last time to the score of Carmina Burana and you see the land revitalized before your eyes.

If TSL can reach those heights (filled with symbolism and legends and mythological intrique carefully tied in with the depth and characterization of the Arthurian story-a true tragedy)
TSL will be a true masterpiece.

Thanks!   I think the reason why I really enjoyed reading the TSL plot is because I saw a ton of symbolism in a lot of things.  Even now, when I thought I understood all of it, I'm finding even more.

I don't know I felt KQ6 was rather epic... It had alot of dark plot lines, land of hte dead, human sacrifices, murdered parents, etc...

King's Quest 6 was an epic but it missed two things:

1) cutscenes. The more cinematic feeling we are adding to TSL.
2)a more 3dimensional main character.

Also, it was a little bit unconnected, for some reason. I won't deny however that going to the land of the dead and meeting the Lord was just breathtaking.

I guess my major problem with KQ6 was that once it started to really get interesting, it had to end.   I guess the ending was "satisfying", but I still would have loved to explore more.

I completely agree. VI was magnificent but ended way too soon. As far as I've read about TSL makes me think that it will live up to the standards left by previous King's Quest, if it doesn't surpass them.
