I was so stoked when I found out KQ8 had been made!!  I bought it, took it home, installed it, started playing it, and was like    It was a clever but nasty move on Sierra's part, because it's one of those games I wouldn't have even considered buying if it didn't have the King's Quest title on it.  It infuriates me.  I found that it took away from the happy fairytale goodness of the previous games.  I agree with you Storm, that it is NOT a REAL KQ game and in no way is even close to being worthy of it's title!!!  DEATH TO MOE!!!

he was butt ugly on that KQ.... I mean in the game itself, now we got it a bit of a different look
well it was hard workin gon his design he had actually no pic like there is about rosella and graham and stuff, it was like... trying to figure out from snapshots

I have my own confession to make.  
I cheated on KQ1, KQ3 and KQ4!  
The thing is, I had their solution even before I got the games.
My only excuse is that at the time I wasn't as good in English as I am now, and that I was young and too stupid to appriciate the fun in solving things yourself rather than just following instructions.  
KQ5, 6 & 7 I finished by myself, and about KQ2... I don't remember. I may have peeped.

BUT - and here I return to the original topic - I cheated on KQ8 maybe twice or three times, and I'm not going to apologize for it because I don't count it as a real KQ!!!
(And I only did it because I was getting really fed up with it at the end, and the thing take FOREVER to load the worlds, and my screen was too damn dark before I found there was a "gamma correction" option...). :-/

dont worry storm we all cheat on games most of the times, i used to do it a lot too it doesnt means at all how much can you actually like a game, no need to come up with excuses or anything, the way i see it

Everyone cheats sooner or later.  I cheated my way through half of KQ3, and I needed a few hints for QFG2.  KQ8 stumped me in 1 place and so did SQ6.  The rest I managed to figure out.  Oh except for KQ1, that one we got hints from friends, especially that dreaded gnome riddle, who the heck would think of flipping the alphabet backwards....hehe I love the riddle, its still cool today!

Wow, so much honesty here, I just have to join in.

Yeah, I cheated at least once for every adventure game I ever played. I remember the days before the internet when it was either an expensive phone call, or those cool little hint books with the spoiler-proof blue transparancies.

The internet has surely made cheating so easy and excessable since those days. Its so hard not to look up an answer when they're all just a few clicks away.

I agree, Im used to cheat on games too, from walkthroughs to cheat codes hehe  
and yeah! internet only makes it easier and cheaper to cheat  on those games

I dont think someone hasn't -ever- cheated on a game, seriously, we all even looked for a damn guide or something once

I just wanted to note that the only funny thing in MOE is Connor's behavior after taking the few last mask pieces.
Did anybody else notice how he does all those fancy exercises while expecting to be attacked by a minion, only to be surprise anyway?

Too bad you didn't!
Mistakes should be erased, not perpetuated, and although Connor is in a bad movie, he is one of the elements that make it bad!
Besides, letting Connor into the KQ9 plot re-affirms the plot of MoE (with the flaws you already described).

Oh, if only I knew then... I bet I could have convinced you guys to see things my way!
