You'll find that MOE fits right in with the rest of the KQs when you play KQ9, what happened there had a purpose, it was not all in vain.

I agree with rich, this is about to give it another try to connor, not to bring back all the flaws on KQ8, really, is not as bad as it sounds

I smell a rip-off!!  >:(
No... not really. Actually I'm just trying to post one with a pic  :D

NO NO NO!!! IT WILL NEVER FIT IN THERE!!!!  :o :o
Like Akril mentioned somewhere before, it's apples and oranges, and I really don't like fruit salad   :D

Naahh, I'm just kidding. Who knows? you may surprise me yet  ;D

Lately I've been hearing (reading) some forum members saying they like MoE!!!
I would like to invite them all in here so I can crash them down, step on them and laugh while doing it (in the most verbal and non-violent and non-offensive way, of course)  ::)

And no, I'm not tired of bashing MoE. I'll never be tired of pointing out the truth to those less enlightened  ;D

Storm a question: how do you feel about combat and violence in kq and video games? Did you have a problem with the fighting? I thought it was really gross when Connor kills the spriggot and blood starts pouring out of his mouth. Ewww!!! That was as different from kq7 as the north pole is far from the south pole. The ending really pissed me off, I was expecting Connor to meet Graham and be rewarded by him. The lack of history about Connor and Lucreto really bothered me, what is Lucreto's reason for destorying the mask, is he sick of being an archon or just wants to take over the universe? How does he become evil? Excuse me, excuse me, what's my motivation?

EXACTLY!!!
MoE has too much sensless violence and too little reason!! >:(

I don't mind too much about violence in video games, because I usually don't play them. I do, however, mind it very much where it comes to the KQ series. It shouldn't have violence for the sake of violence like in MoE or all the other action games.

I also don't like adventure games where they make you fight in order to finish the game because I really suck at fighting  :P
My fighting technique is mainly "just punch the keys/mouse a lot until someone is dead..."  :P :P :P
If I want fighting, I just play RPGs...

hehe, that's something we got in common, I'm not so good at combat either, I played a video game at my friend's house and she totally kickced my ass. Right now I'm playing might&magic 6 and it's taking me forever! I don't know if I'll ever finnish the game, since I've replayed it from the begining twice because I kept messing up, but I'm doing better now.

I've just finished Might & Magic 6 a couple of months ago! my fighting technique really worked well there, and also the "run away and heal every 5 minutes" strategy.  ;D
It also took me forever, and I had to cheat to finish it.
I did manage to finish it without dying, but that's just because I loaded a game every time I did - I just hated seeing how many times I died on that list... :P

I'm trying to find that stupid hour glass of time, and I'm getting really pissed off with all the magicians and fire spirits I have tof ight. It's not fair! There's too many of them, and their liflines are too long. How do they expect me to beat all those bad guys? I wish I could just go in and grab the hourglass and leave without getting killed.

Ahh, I can hardly remember those distant days when I used to fear magicians...  ;D
Those stupid lifelines - you can never tell anything by them.  >:(

Dragonstar, MM6 is a very "loose" game - the order in which you do things usually doesn't matter, so you can come back to that place when you're stronger & better. BTW - where is the place you're in?

Another one of my strategy tips - for rooms full of strong monsters: go to the entrance of the room and then run like hell back into the empty room/corridor you came from.
If a monster spotted you it wil follow you into the empty room (you can see the little red dots following you if you use the "wizard's eye" spell) where you can kill it, having the numeric adventage.
If not, try again.
This is my simple "divide & conquer" tactic. It also works in open spaces but then you have to run more :P
I also have a more complicated method, that involves a long corridor along which you can run backwards, and the fact that mosters tend to accumulate adjacently from you, even through walls.  ;D

My brother's strategy in this game was using "strafe" but it was too slow for me. :D

My party was a knight, a paladin, a cleric and a sorcerer.

I figured you were at that island - it's the first place I saw fire elemental. I didn't manage to finish it the first time I was there - those pesky elementals hide in the corners of the ceiling and shoot at you, and they almost never leave the rooms!! either that, or maybe I finished it too early in the game and had to return and do it all over again at the proper time? I don't remember...  :-/

Storm

I'm glad you've found my tips useful!!!  ;D
Some other things I used in my strategy are the fact that monsters don't heal - well, not as fast as you anyway, and my special swift-air-strike, which you can only use if you have the "fly" spell. It basically means you fly fast over your enemies and shoot them for all you're worth while passing over them  ;D.
