Hi,

I know many of you will not believe a single word, but for those who care to read this anyway, I would like to announce, that we, that is the www.LarryLives.com team, have finally recieved a semi-official confiramtion that Larry 8 is in development.
In order to guard our source's anonymity we cannot reveal much more at the moment, so you'll have to take my word on it.

For the latest news and details check out www.LarryLives.com

The Knight:
If Al Lowe isn't invovled.  It's not Leisure suit Larry.

BoardnationArchive

Cesar_Bittar:
hey, so if Roberta isn't involved, it's not King's Quest?

Yep.     JK!

Storm:
An OFFICAL Larry 8 from Sierra?
You're right, I don't believe it

BoardnationArchive

doernpferde:
See, I knew you wouldn't. And unfortunately there's nothing I can do about that, before it is publicly confirmed, there's nothing I can do to persuade you, except giving you my word on it!

BTW, we have recieved a second inofficial confirmation today, but it's all the same, either you believe me (and www.LarryLives.com) or you don't.

...And it doesn't matter much either way

oldbushie:
I still have to finish the old LSL games, though the one where Larry has to program Unix into a machine is priceless.

They way $ierra/Vivendi is now, they lack the talent to produce a true Larry game. They may be labelling it as a Larry game, but rest assured it will not be so. They did not manage to ruin the Larry-series yet, so let's hope this semi-official rumor turns out to be untrue. Anyway, if they do, that means there just will have to be a fanmade LSL-sequel to set things right again. nd no, I'm not going to be a part of it, I only do forum-postings.

BoardnationArchive

The Knight:
I also heard Larry 8 isn't going to be in the same style if they do make it.  So get ready to be Larry Laffer, running around the Land of the Lounge Lizards, with sub-atomic machine guns.

BoardnationArchive

The Knight:
We'll just have to wait and see what happens.  There's really nothing else we can do.

Let us just for a moment believe that there are not only idiots and dumbfarts working for VU games, and there actually might be someone interested in shipping a quality product.

That's a mighty big thing you're asking me to do. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that. However, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, as I'm doing with BS3. I will only buy it after I have read a review and/or played a demo, and I find I like it, but not sooner, and certainly not out of blind faith.

BoardnationArchive

doernpferde:
So will I! And I don't want anybody here to think I would buy a game out of blind faith or even try to persuade other people to do anything like that.

The rules are simple, either you ship a quality product and it sells, or you don't. Not even VU can neglect those rules. The new Larry has to convince by quality, not by name.

Basically all we can do is wait for more news and speculate!

Just to add a bit more fuel to the matter, check out what I spotted in my latest issue of Computer Games Magazine:

http://home.att.net/~miscfile/cgmpreview.jpg

What do you think? Am I reading too much into it?

Peace & Luv, Liz

doernpferde:
Now this is interesting... But what is it? Where and how did you find that and what's that supposed to mean? I mean so far it's just a jpeg!

Please tell me more!

Very exciting...

Jeysie:
Well, honestly... that jpg is pretty much it. Like I said, I saw it in Computer Games Magazine. To expand further... every issue of Computer Games Magazine has a little section where they preview what's going to be covered in the next issue. And that little pic is in that section. I scanned it because I thought it sounded suspiciously like it might refer to an LSL thing and wanted to share, but I'm afraid I don't know any more about what it's supposed to mean for certain than you do. There's no more info about the matter other than the pic and the text in the pic. I guess we'll just have to keep an eye out for the CGM November 11th issue. (shrug)

Peace & Luv, Liz

doernpferde:
Well, thank you very much! I think there hardly can be any doubt about what the text is referring to. There is just this one "biggest Loser in the history of computer games".

My supposition is that on November, 11 VU is going to officially announce the new Larry game any possibly reveal some exclusive detasils. Al Lowe himself told me, he had heard of an article, that was dealing with Sierra's new Larry. Perhaps this is what he was referring to?

Though we will do our best to learn more, feel free to tell us, if you find anything "suspiucious"

thanks

Jeysie:
Not a problem... if they do end up having an LSL article next month, I'll be happy to scan it for anyone interested. Although I recommend giving the magazine a try yourself, if you can find it... I find it to be intelligently written, but still with a strong sense of humor, and they're more adventure-game friendly than some of the other PC gaming mags.

Peace & Luv, Liz

I should think so, comparing Connor to Larry, how dare you!
