Lover or friend?

Well... in Latin and Greek... the word for friend can carry some of the stronger connotations of "lover" (but then this is something closer to how we say boy_friend/girl_friend (with space) vs. boyfriend/girlfriend (without space)) and then in Greek, there are multiple words for "love": the chief ones here being eros vs philos... anyway... you tell me which connotation or sense of lover you're using (preferrably by telling me the Greek stem that your appendings -της to) and then to whom you're referring... and then I'll hazard a guess... right now, I'm going to take very wide English interpretations and go with "Friend" assuming that the reference is to the answerer... though it could be to preference as... ... ... excuse me, my brain is doing that thing again... *walks out of the forum and into his brain, forces his mind to sit down and stop jumping on the furniture, and returns*

English, French, and Latin... with any competence.  I can muddle my way through expressions of Gaelic and Spanish... I suppose leaving Greek out of the competence set is a little unfair... but my vocabulary in it is too lacking to count.
