Wow. I really enjoyed the demo. It was quite awesome, and I am eagerly awaiting all of chapter 1. The graphics look fantastic, the voice acting is nice, the dialoge is great, the story is already captivating me, etc.

As with any game, there is always room for improvement, but my quarrels are minor.

1. Walking from screen to screen... I had a lot of trouble getting graham to walk back to the tree from the pawn shop/bookstore scene. In fact, he wouldn't. I had to use the keyboard to zoom the camera out enough to allow me to walk to the next screen. I was playing at a 1440x900 resolution... I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

2. I would really like to see a lot more responses to unsuccessful actions. Even some of the most important items, the cloakonce it is in your inventory for example, have no triggered response for trying to use the hand on, etc. Or the suit of armor in one of the hallways... I didn't expect to be able to take it, but I certainly did expect a response about not being able to.

I know that adding text responses for unused objects may be a bit time consuming, but I feel that it would really add to the game. If the armor triggers no response except the generic ones, I can basically assume that I will never need to interact with it to solve puzzles, and that makes the game a bit less challenging and more predictable.

3. Audio crackling. I was hearing lots of little staticy noises throughout the game. Mostly during dialoge I think.

Anyhow, as I said... I think the game is excellent so far, and I am certainly not complaining. I just wanted to voice my excitement about the game, as well as offer up a few minor things that might imrove the game.

Excellent work fellas. Keep it up!

Actually, the game has nine chapters that will be released in groups of three. "Shadows", the first part of the game, features Graham as the playable character and spans chapters 1-3. "The Two That Are One", the second part of the game, features Alexander and Rosella as the playable characters and spans chapters 4-6. "Eternities", the last part of the game, lets you play as all three characters and spans chapters 7-9.

Due to the short time the team had to put the demo together last November for Vivendi, the demo does not currently support free movement for Graham. He will follow a pre-determined path when you click on key areas of the screen, which may be why you have difficulty exiting some screens. The full game will give you freedom of movement, and is already present in the current build of the game.

I think this is due to the engine's difficulty processing .ogg sound files. The team has devised a possible fix for this, but it's not yet known if this will be implemented into a future patch for the demo.

Thanks for the feedback. We hope you're a regular visitor to the site.
Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the Tribal Council area immediately. I'll read the votes...

Yonkey

1. Might be caused by your resolution.  Try the game on windowed setting like 1280x1024 or 1024x768 and let me know if you still experience problems.  If so, please report this as an issue in the Technical Support forum. :)

2. Interesting... Since the item dialogue hasn't been recorded yet, maybe I'll add something for Patch 2.0 due to be released tonight... 8)  I too would expect distinct dialogue for Hand on items rather than generic error, since it's more realistic.  Be sure to fill out an issue report for this, and maybe I'll get Design to consider this request for all items within the rest of Shadows. :)

3. As Michael mentioned, this is probably a Torque issue, but just to be safe be sure that you've installed the latest version of your sound drivers.  If you still experience problems after doing this, fill out an issue report.
