A remke of MOE with 8 bit graphics in AGI would be good enough..

;D

I was thinking 256 colours VGA at 320x200 for MoE.

True.  I am still struggling with graphics, and need help as I said... but I will manage it, although, it's alot harder to find help online for these things than I thought itwould be.

Ahh, well I thought I'd update this thread to mention newly updated official information (from An Encycloped of Daventry, in King's Quest Companion, 2nd Edition) on the King's Quest Omnipedia in reguards to this game's relation to King's Quest, and Priscilla's identity, and who she eventually married.

Priscilla daughter of King George IV of Serenia, eventually became the Queen of Serenia and married someone named Kenneth the Huge. They currently rule the kingdom (or at least they last did when they were last mentioned circa KQ5).

There were apparently two wanderers. The first, a barbarian, actually died soon after saving Priscilla, became that skeleton with the boot Graham finds in the desert. Its speculated his name may have been intended to be "John the Wanderer" who would have been the author of the Guidebook of the Green Isles (but that character was later replaced with Derek Karlavaegan).

The second wanderer the time traveling adventurer with the computer, has little information except we know he saved Priscila the second time when Harlin turned history back. He might be Kenneth the Huge.

So any theories that Priscilla was Edward's first wife (who was actually Queen Maylie), or that hero was Edward, or "Hereward" (and would become Graham's mother) don't exactly fit.

I suppose idea that Priscilla could be Queen Maylie's sister could be worked in somehow.

Of course, when it comes to fan creations, the creative design can take over, and the story tellers can tell whatever story they want to tell. So if someone restarts this project, whatever happens should be interesting.
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

Firstly, Atec wins points for eating, shooting, and leaving. :P

Anyway, that still sounds like an interesting game depending on the perspective one chooses to take... I don't think there's anything wrong with fleshing out the other worlds of Daventry: so just making it a sort of KQ1 story for Serenia wouldn't be a bad idea (ooooo... you could make a series out of it and talk all about the trials and tribulations and quests of the royal house of Serenia (ya know, for a change :P)). Personally, the desert in Llewdor bugs me immensely *likes to imagine that there is a city out in it somewhere and that THAT is the seat of royal power in Llewdor (possibly deposed by Manannan and/or at least one of the places Manannan keeps popping off to... but that's just me...).

Problem with all of that is that we don't see a castle anywhere in Serenia (not counting Icebella's palace), and Derek's maps don't show one either.

Also, do we even know that Priscilla is the princess of Serenia? Harlin could have snatched her from somewhere else.

Not Derek's (Peter Spear) info actually, it first originated out of Wizard and the Princess itself.

Yep, the info that Priscilla was the Princess of Serenia of information was straight out of the manual for "Wizard and the Princess" in which king of Serenia, "George" asks for someone to go out and save his princess.
Here let me post it;

Quote
You are a happy wanderer passing through a village in the land of Serenia when you notice a large crowd. Being a curious wanderer, you saunter over to see what is going on. From the middle of the chaos you hear a bell ringing. AS you get closer, you see the town cryer with a proclamation from the King of Serenia.

"HEAR YE" "HEAR YE", he cries. "His Magesty King George, has just suffered a terrible loss. His fair daughter, the Princess Priscilla, has been abducted by the great and dreadful wizard, Harlin, to his castle beyond the Great Mountains. The crowd is now hushed, waiting ot hear more. The town cryer then shouts, "His Magesty offers half his kingdom to anybody who can bring the princess back safely." That is all he has to say, but it leaves you shaking. Not only are you a happy wanderer, but you have an adventure as well and half a kingdom is a great reward. You decide to find her. But where are the great mountains? As you look around you see no mountains. Just a vast desert that seems never to end. You ask a villager where the great mountains are located, and he points to the north and tells you, "there are a great many dangers on the way to the great mountains, and the Wizard Harlin is very powerful and bad."

You thank the villager for his information and start off to the north. As you enter the desert, you check your belongings. You are carrying a flask of water, a small knife, a loaf of bread and a blanket. Not much for such a long journey, but it would have to do, for you have no money. And so, you are on your way.......

Its interesting to note that the Adventure in Serenia release actually made the rename a sequel to the previous release, oddly enough.

In addition as I recall when you return to the village at the end of the game it makes mention that its Priscilla's home. Apparently her "palace" is in the village itself, although you can't see it.

What peter did in the King's Quest Companion was take the story and further tie it into a few things seen in KQ5, like the skeleton in the desert. ...and add a bit of his warped sense of humor.

Ya I like the Companion so much I've gone back and bought every edition just to see how the artwork, and material was expanded. I was pleasently surprised to find out that a complete chapter I hadn't read before, cut between 2nd and 3rd edition's release. The whole An Encyclopedia of Daventry section is a fun section. I'm still waiting for my copy of first edition to see what kinda of differences it had.

QuotePersonally, the desert in Llewdor bugs me immensely *likes to imagine that there is a city out in it somewhere and that THAT is the seat of royal power in Llewdor

Well, uh the lost city of Tanalore is out there. Not Llewdor's seat of power but interesting none the less.
