Oh yes. I got a dreamcast the day it came out and I have enjoyed it ever since. I think its my favorite system. A few weeks ago I was looking for buried treasure in the store that I work in and I found the Bleemcast emulator for Metal Gear Solid. I didn't have the money right then to buy Bleem and metal gear so I took MGS's box and taped it to Bleem and put it in the back with a note on it. A coworker couldn't find the box for MGS for a customer so he sold it in another box. That was our only metal gear so I decided to save the Bleem for another day. (we have 2 anyway)

I was just wondering how well PSX games played on the Dreamcast. I'm guessing that it works better on the Dreamcast.

I don't own a 3D game console, but I think the Dreamcast is one of the best.

Mary Jane

The conversion looks pretty good. You can also save those psx games right to your VMU! The VMU brought so much fun to your controlled and saving.

What does VMU stand for? I know about the small screen, and storage, but I don't know what it means.

I remember when I was waiting for PowerVR(used in the Dreamcast) videocards to be sold for the PC. Only a few were made, and they weren't very good.

I was planning to buy one after the price went down. After I heard they were going to stop supporting it(or something like that), I decided not to buy one.

I could talk all day about how great the Dreamcast and its peripheals were.

It was FAR ahead of the competition, when it was made. If it was getting more games, it still could.

P.S. Yonkey, time to start another thread. LOL

I'll wait for a bit more posts on it.  8)

Soul Caliber and Ecco look better than 90% of games today. Its hard to imagine games from 1999 being so powerful, but thats just the awesomeness of the Dreamcast. I was a bit mad when Sega gave up. The "Cast" was still doing very well in the states, it had just started to lose popularity in Japan.

I've always wanted to play Soul Caliber. I've only played the sequel, and not very much of that.  :(

They FINALLY ported Sonic Adventure to the PC. I think $40(US) is too much though.

*Trys to think of name*

Power Stones 1 (I think) is a great game, and the sequel's fantastic.

I just recently found out, that Half-Life's avaiable for the Dreamcast.

I think the reason so many great games were made for it, is because it was easy to code for.

Mary Jane

Half-Life was made for it, but it was never released. Not that I'm suggesting anything but it can be found on the net ;). When I bought my Dreamcast (on the day it came out) I bought Sonic Adventure, Powerstone, and Soulcaliber.

I know it was never released. I know where to buy them though(not legal, as far as I know).

Dreamcast is one of the few consoles that I hoped the "big name" games would be ported. Most weren't  :'( .

The only emulator for it, is in the early stages of development. The fact that the dreamcast doesn't use CDs/DVDs doesn't help matters any.

Mary Jane

Oh yeah, I forgot it didn't use those. What did it use (wasn't it GDs or something like that)?

I think they were called GD-ROMs.

*checks on Google*

Yeah, that's the name.
