Let's make it official...The black cloak dude is Shadrack, right?

It's funny how you find you enjoy your life when you're happy to be alive.

But poor old Graham has no idea....amazing how much a single letter from KQ6 can do....it shows how good KQ6 was...

Definitely. ;D The funny thing is that the official series was planning on leaving him as a loose end.  The Black Cloak Society that Shadrack is a part of was mentioned in KQ5 and I've seen people link it to KQ3 and even KQ2. 8)

No, only mentioned in KQ6 in the official games.
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

Hmm... someone mentioned Mordack's BCS connection here.  Literally quoting that he's the "Brother of Society of the Black Cloak".  But it doesn't say which game/novel they got that information from. :-\

The quote is in KQ6, in the letter from Shadrack...  :suffer:

True that version of the letter does not specifically state that Mordack is a brother of the black cloak. For all we know he isn't even connected to the black cloak if you only went from the letter. Its only the King's Quest companion, KQ6 novelization that specifically ties him to the Black Cloak society as a brothe, or perhaps a friend to the society's members, and possibly Alhazred's letters(I'd have to go replay the game again).

Btw the way that letter in the omnipedia is a blending of informtion from two versions of the letter, from the game and the manual. The part where it calls Mordack, "brother of the society of the black" cloak was left out for redundency issues. I can't recall if that quote was in the game version or the book version.

It would be great if you could update those pages to use actual quotations rather than made up ones. ;P

The quotes aren't made up... There are literaly two versions of the letters(both alhazred's and shadracks). That page just incorporates information from both versions of Shadrack's letters. Directly quoted, not even paraphrases. The novelization expanded the letters with extra information that the game's version never mentioned. Though in some cases certain material from one or the other were left out due to being redundant, and essentially alternate way of explaining the same thing.

I haven't even put up information about the letters for Alhazred since we have more knowledge about him outside of letters.

Also its kind of amusing but the graphic for Shadrack's letter in game appears to have more words than what the narrator actually says. I would have loved to see the original artwork for that letter before it was scanned in, to see what it actually said.

As a point of note the King's Quest 6 novelization is written by eluki bes shahar, with help from Jane Jensen.

Awesome, but again, if you're going to direcly quote someone or something, you should always reference it properly. :)

Well the quote you mentioned, "Brother of the Society of the Black Cloak" doesn't even look like something I wrote in the page. its from one of the other people that wrote that article before I added to it(you can check the history for yourself, see the article update by connor in august 2005, before I even came along). It can easily be removed from the article for more accuracy sake.

Actually it looks more like it should refer to the quote, "Alhazred brother of the Black Cloak". I've changed the order of the sentence to relfect that quote.

As a side note reading back through the King's Quest companion it brings up a rather interesting factoid about Alhazred while he is a friend of Mordack's, he is actually a subserviant minion of Mordack's. Which places Mordack at a higher position over Alhazred.

Mordack is connected to Black Cloak society but how much is unclear, if he is outside individual who is friends with members or as a member himself, who knows. But the important matter was that he actually held command of the Viziers actions and was apparently in on, and or concocted the plan for the takeover and destruction of the Green Isles. Including Casimma's kidnapping.

Other than that, the thing you need to remember about the omnipedia is its a form of the wikipedia. In that anyone can add or change anything on the site. That is articles are written by multiple people. If you notice something that seems flawed to you, you can easily alter it yourself.

I mostly add to site and avoid altering other people's additions. Unless I specifically noticed a disecrpency. But I'm human, and sometimes things do get past me. ....or I didn't read the entire article, instead just skimming through it, and just expanded where the article left off.
