I parenthesized that word, to show it was just a metaphor. What do you call someone you're hitting (also not meant literally) on then? ;)

Quote from: Say on November 18, 2003, 10:05:02 AMhahaha men use to think of that  as a "super cool thing" sort of like but multiple wives are like...  multiple b***hing, multiple maintainance, multiple troubles too :P ahahah not just the good multiplies I think also the bad does :D lol :P
The key word is 'Time management'. I mean, Sultans have no problems with their Harem, so... :D

Heh. While looking up to see if I had the right word for more than one husband, I found a site claiming that allowing a man to have more than one wife is actually good from a feminist perspective. Oh, boy, some women will justify anything so they can get what they want. "Oh, I really want this guy, but he's married. Well, if I let him be married to both of us, I still get him, and I guess I can live with having to share him." ::)

If people are cool with sharing each other with more than one person, hey, it's their choice. Maybe they're even better off. But the purpose of marriage is two people who want to pledge their lives to each other. Everything else is just legal crap. If you don't love one person enough to commit your romantic attentions to them alone, then you shouldn't be getting married. No scolding or shame about it, if sharing your affections with more than one person is an arrangement everyone's happy with, it's just not the purpose of getting married. Besides, a multiple-partner relationship implies a desire for flexibility, and marriage, even in these days of prevalent divorce, is not flexible.

The high divorce rate nowadays can probably be attributed to two main things... one, being too selfish to think about their partner as much as they should, and two, getting married at the wrong time, for the wrong reasons, or to the wrong person.

Of course, I think that while it's possible to like, or even have deep affection for more than one person, it's not possible to truly love more than one person, so I might be biased.

You mean polyandry? you should have just asked me  :D

I wonder if the sites encouraging polygamy also support polyandry. After all, it's a lot more feministic  ::)

I think it's because the two partners don't talk enough to each other. To me, it seems at the first problem married people file for divorce, without trying to talk it out first.

Hee, I dunno, just a plain ol' woman, I guess. I mean... I'm not butch, but I'm not very feminine either. And while I can pull off a bit of elegance and eloquence on occasion, I'm not graceful or genteel, and my sense of humor is certainly not very dignified or refined. :D And no true lady would spend so much time with her mind firmly in the gutter, either. ;D

Hee. I know, I was just joshing you, Say. I've always liked having lots of male friends, but I only want one guy to completely love.

No problem, I'm very much in touch with my feminine side so that'll compensate nicely. :D And to me, you're not plain ol' at all, maybe I should call you 'lovely one', instead of target. ;D
