I said someday I may post Guardian Angel. Well, that's not today, but I do have a poem for the first book. (I had planned it to be a trilogy, but I scrapped the idea, and merged the three poems for each book together. The one you are about to read the poem for the first book unmerged. I lost the others...) So, here it is:

Lands lay barren and scarred
From eternal fire
Unleashed in a demon's brawl

With time comes light
That shines in upon barren lands
And heals a wound that dates back
To the beginning of time itself
And ignites a
Demon's hatred of humanity

Light continues to shine upon
Darkness cast for eternity, and lasts forever more

Demons from all around spark an un-extingueshible flame
That destroys paradise's lost in a
Fuedal war between light and darkness

Thus unleashing a young girl's destiny
To stop the despair forever more
And face an omnipotent power
Beyond the planet's control

Hey that's a nice start!

I'm not really into poetry myself but that's very nice! I like this part where it goes:

"Light continues to shine upon
Darkness cast for eternity, and lasts forever more"

Cool stuff DD! Keep on posting :D

I intend on it!  ;D I actually thought I was never any good at poetry, but when my parents read it, they said I was very talented! I was shocked! I never expected that I would be good at this! I knew I had a gift for writing since the third grade, and in the second grade I had decided to be a writer (I still do! ;D) but the problem was that my writing skills were not so desirable back then, and I wanted to be a writer. It was my goal, and I had some fine ideas too, so I kept at it, and I wouldn't give up (Although I used to want to :P) and in time my writing skills surpassed the highschool level in the seventh grade. Every time I write, I can feel that my writing is better. When I read my old writing I think to myself, "I used to write like that?" My goal in life was to write, and I never gave up! There was one kid who said it was useless, and for a while, he got to me, but when I contacted an author (And yes, they write back in person, and one author handwrote a reply to me himself! And I save them!) they told me that they didn't care what people said to them, and they kept at it, and now that particular author is on the New York Times Bestseller. P.B. Kerr, author of Children of the Lamp and some adult novels was that author. And so I write because I enjoy it, and my writing got so good that I got an award for creative writing, and treasure it deeply. My 8th grade graduation certificate thingy actually said "for his love of the written word, especially Science Fiction..." I am very happy with how much my writing has evolved!

You wrote to P.B. Kerr and got a response?! Cool! I want to write to Roberta Williams, but she doesn't have much to do with writing.

Just try! First you would have to find a way to contact her. After that... I don't know. Authors tend to be easier because they usually have contact addresses. I have an e-mail or two from Scott Westerfeld as well as Michael Gerber, author of Barry Trotter and the Unathorized Parody and Barry Trotter and the Unnecesary Sequel as well as Barry Trotter and the Dead Horse. And also The Chronicles of Blarnia: The Lying ________ in the Wardrobe. The blank I don't believe should be said...

Whoa!  Very nice! XD

Say's two favourite lines are also my faves, but these four are really great too:

With time comes light
That shines in upon barren lands
And heals a wound that dates back
To the beginning of time itself

I try! There are two other poems for the two scrapped sequels. (It was going to be a trilogy, but I decided to scrap the idea, because the third book could only have been 15-30 pages long. Not very significant! The first guardian Angel is about 93 pages or so as of yet. And yes, I do have a new sequel idea in mind, but that is for another discussion!)

Hey that's actually very nice, the most reading I personally do relates to technical books and whatnot (geek) I truly enjoy marketing books as well as well specific authors myself.

I went to Powell's a couple of days ago and I found a really great book "100 Bullshit Jobs...And How to Get Them" by Stanley Bing. Hahaha, what a weird combination of business and comedy :P

So... anyways, yeah that shows I know peanuts about poetry myself. I just read the pretty words together and point out the pieces I like ;P

Hehe it's ok.  We all know what we like and what we don't.  For some people, they just make it more clearer than others. ;)

I am very proud of my work on Guardian Angel, but I like my sequel idea a lot too...  :'( I just can't write them both at once... Or rather I shouldn't, but I probably will end up doing so! XD

Hey, DD, I like your poems a lot. I have been writing ever since my 4th grade teacher gave story-writing as homework. Unfortunantely, never had anything published, probably because I'm lazy, and I tend to be very critical of my work and often re-write stories in the middle of them if I think they're bad. I'm away from home right now and don't have access to my own computer, so I am using the one at the local library.

Actually, I never even posted the sequel yet... Sorry to dissapoint you... And what is that supposed to mean?  >:( I'm offended! I do not wish to start a flame war though.
