Okay, first I want to say I didn't know what board to post on, and honestly, this is the only KQ-related forum I'm a member of so I'm hoping one of the KQ series fans can help me.

I only have KQ 1-6, and I've beaten 1-3 and 5-6, making the Perils of Rosella the one I have yet to master....and i've been stuck for three days (yes I try every day, I admit, Ive been obsessed since my cousin got me hooked on KQ6 oh say 5ish years ago) anywhoo, I'm over half-done (if you go by a walkthrough or points) and Rosella's gotten the fruit from the magic tree in the swamp.  I'm trying to find my way back through the save and everytime I've tried to lay the board over the chasm and walk as slow as possible over it, I fall in.  and for the life of me I can't find out what the heck I'm doing wrong.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would totally appreciate it  :)

As much as I hate to say this, most of KQ4 is composed out of trial and error sequences. :-\ The chasm is one of them.

Personally, I used to try walking one step and then pressing F3 in order to get the last message, if you keep trying this, irritating though it shall get, you can usually make it across. :)

Maybe I'm just remembering it wrong, but this could very well be one of the places where using the diagonal walking keys is required to avoid trouble. I remember years back when I played Sierra games for a long time without knowing you could walk diagonally, using the Page Up/Page Down keys etc. If you're playing the SCI version (=better graphics than KQ1-3), which you probably are, you can also walk using the mouse, provided that you set it up to use the mouse, which may help you here.

I just played it today, and after I laid the board I just pushed the left arrow key to go across. (And it was the SCI version.)
