That's weird. I couldn't see it until I did what Jafar said. Now when I come back to the forum, I can see it... :-\ Very weird.

when I refreshed the site, it looked slightly different but I still don't see anything.

I liked KQVIII, I just thought that it was not good as a "King's Quest" game.  :-\

Kings Quest 5 and I am now trying to start playing it again.  Still gotta find a way to get it to work on this computer.

The first kings quest I ever played was Kings Quest V. My dad was a huge computer guy and worked on them for a long time. I was maybe lets see 7 years old at the time? I'm 20 now. We used to buy all these adventure games and he had bought the original Kings Quest V but then we found out the CD version was released and I guess because it had voices he figured it'd be good to teach me how to speak since I had a speech disability at the time. I thought the game was great, and the voices were well done wish I still had the game. I have a regular disk version but it's not the same. The last kings quest I played was VII, I didn't like the style because it really didn't feel like kings quest. I am planning to get VI though and try it out since it's got those nice crisp VGA style graphics.

I loved VII, but VI was also amazing. I especially loved the theme song Girl In The Tower (or if you played LSL6 and called the sierra hotline, Girl in the Shower) ::) :P

My first was KQVI, which I played on a computer at my stepdad's office when I was hanging out there one weekend 13 or so years ago. Never did get around that damn minotaur's maze. Then, when I was about 16, I bought a computer with earnings from a summer job and picked up the KQ collection along with a few other games to go with it. I thought I was so cool because my computer had a CD-ROM. No more silly floppies for me! I then set out beating all the KQs, save KQ3. Damn that stupid wizard! Seemed more omnipresent than Jehovah himself. I kept that computer for around 5 years until I willed it to my siblings when I joined the Army. The collection disappeared in a subsequent move, though. I think I ended up finding one of the disks wedged in the cushions of a couch when I was home on leave, but my siblings had upgraded Windows by then so I couldn't play 'em anyway. I've since bought another computer and now have to make do with some glitchy copies I found on the 'net. (Damn you, WindowsXP!) Come on VU! Enough with the delays already. I want my KQ Compilation!

sdogg1m

KQVI which came pre-bundled in my very first PC, a Compaq Presario Pentium-75.

Space Quest IV was also included.

To think I would have never known the goodness that is King's Quest had it not been for Compaq's bundled software.

Side Note: I have played and beaten KQ's 1-7 but have never, ever, ever played King's Quest 8 and from all the commotion on this forum concerning the game, I probably never will.

Excellent idea. But I was not so wise and played 8 before I even found this forum through mere chance.  :-\

The high point of that game was Connor going through a portal, and getting thrown back through it by a big, dark gorilla thing. Unfortunately, once you got a better look at it, it didn't look anything like a gorilla, so there goes the best part. :P

Was Conner supposed to assume the throne of Daventry just as Graham did from Edward? The only reason I ask is because Alexander becomes King of the Land of the Green Isles and therefore cannot be Daventry's king.
