My very first one was, of course,  KQ1.
Back then I didn't know much english, and the game crashed didn't wouldn't work after a while, so I couldn't finish it back then - I only got to finish it when I got the KQ collection years later   :P

My first was KQ5, and then I played 1-4 since I liked 5 so much. ;D Then I got 6, 7, and the nameless one.

My first KQ was KQ3.  I played that and liked it so much, I talked my father into getting me a PC powerful enough to play KQ4 (this is going back a ways, as you can tell).  I even went out and bought a sound card (Creative Game Blaster - the forefather of the Sound Blaster) so I could hear the music in the game (I couldn't afford the Roland MT32).  To this day, I have a special affinity to that game.  Maybe because it was the first KQ I ever played with full music, I don't know.  But I loved it.

When I decided to buy a KQ-game, the KQ 1-6 Collection was already available, so I bought that. Naturally, I would play KQ1 first, then go on with KQ2, and end at KQ6, all in perfect chronological order. Afterwards, I got KQ7 seperate.

Yeah, I remember that bridge... took me a while to figure out that you had to keep the soles of his shoes on the pixels of the bridge at all times or he slips off. :P

My first KQ was the very first edition on an acient tandy when I was five. Those were the days of zork, KQ, Gold rush, Laura Bow, Space quest, Kyrandia and all the other great Sierra/westwood/Lucas arts games. Shame they dont make them like that anymore, but hopefully KQ9 will restore my faith :D

Oh yeah and seeing as how we've gone onto console games, anyone getting MarioKart:Double Dash!!? I've ordered mine from the U.S. seeing as I've got an import cube but this time around its out in the UK before the U.S. !!! Usually theres at least a 2 or 3 month gap between console releases. Ah well that'll teach me to be impatient.

Mario Party 5 is fun, I played that recently. Looking forward to reading this article!

My first KQ game was King's Quest 4, then 3, then the collection of 1-6 when we got a newer computer, and then 7.

First Sierra game was The Black Cauldron:) ANd I also played Donald Duck's PLayground and SPace Quest 2 before King's Quest. When we got out first computer, a friend of my dad's loaned us some games to play which eventually just kind of became ours, and TBC was among them. This was great for two reasons - one, I then read and still read The Chronicles of Prydain, and two, my first interests in games, adventures and game making came to be.

We had an Atari...I remember pitfall mostly. And Q-bert and some Strawberry Shortcake game.

The first KQ I ever played was KQ6. The first PC game I ever played was either SQ5 or Inherit te Earth, closely followed by KQ6. Altogether, I have played KQs5,6,7, and yes, it's true, KQ: Mask of Eternity! I thought the game stunk, but I bought because, hey, it was King's Quest. But I learned then that the reviews in a game magazine, screenshots on a box, and the title of a classic adventure game series slapped onto a 1st-person shooter set in Daventry can be decieving. Oh yeah, and I'm sorry if my spelling isn't up to par.

I'm in no hurry to leave the "MOE Hate Club"  ;D   :P I felt the only thing REALLY good thing was the end-credits music. The hack-and-slash style just wasn't meant for KQ. The whole, "enter land/level, kill monsters, hunt for keys and other useful items, beat the 'Boss' of the level, head to next land/level" thing is meant for The Legend of Zelda game series, not King's Quest. I have no objection to Connor being in KQ IX, though. If you do get to play as him, I'll be sure to get every single game-over message and scene on a bitmap file!   ;)

My first was KQV about 10 years ago. My mom had just gotten a computer (it wasn't our first computer, just our first computer that had more than 2 colors), and we wanted to get games for it, so we headed out to Office Max. There was a whole rack of games and stuff. I picked out KQV because it had a pretty picture on the front ^_^

Then I got KQVI in a pack of a bunch of other Sierra games, but KQVI was the only one in there worth playing. And then after that, I was just absolutly hooked. 10 years later, I still am.  I have had many obsessions (Sailor Moon, Buffy, Tenchi...) but Kings Quest has been around the longest for me.

I'm not sure what my first KQ was...my sisters had 1, 4, and 5. It was one of those. Mixed up mothergoose was the first I played, though. That game was so fun.

My first was KQ3.  I suppose, storywise, if one did not get introduced to the series right from KQ1, KQ3 is a second best, as you know as much about Daventry and the royal family as Alex (er, Gwydion) does to begin with - that is to say, nothing.  ;D

KQ4 rules. It was really hard, but really fun.

My first KQ was 6.  Took me forever to get past the Catacombs. Who would have thought you could pick that brick up on the Isle of Wonder?

Oldbushie

As the KQ guide always says, "If it ain't nailed down, pick it up, if it is nailed down, use a crowbar." ;)

(Something like that, anyway. ;))
