No one in my family likes MOE or Connor.
Same here! :D

Then again, no one in my family knows who Moe or Connor is either. ;P

They will soon(I assume they'll be playing the game).

Then they'll <3 Connor. XD

Yonkey

LOL!  Well, maybe my sister might play it since she did say "Ooooh, what's that?  :D" when I was testing a kq9 build. XD

BTW, MOE (Mask of Eternity) is KQVIII even though it does not seem like it.

Last time I checked, Sierra denied that.

*thinks about what he just said*

I guess it doesn't matter too much anymore. :(

Actually, my brother does know what MOE is, but he wouldn't be caught dead playing such a lame-ass action game. It's hard to say this about someone who plays GTA, but he has better taste than that :P

It is not too big a deal but here is a link that refers to
Mask of Eternity as King's Quest VIII

Other than the title of them, I see no mention of KQVIII.

Sierra never DENIED MOE :stabs: :stabs: :stabs: was KQVIII... they just marketed it as KQ: MOE so it wouldn't repel gamer who haven't played the rest of the KQs.

I kept an eye during the last year or so of production. They not only denied it, they put a great deal of effort into saying it wasn't a sequel. If they went any farther pointing that out, they would have had to call it a spin-off. Which is what I consider it anyways. XD

Storm

They didn't *deny* it was #8 in the series... they simply said it wasn't a sequal because it isn't - it's not related to the other KQs (ie, doesn't continue their plotline).

What? don't look at me like that... I'm the first to jump on the 'MOE isn't a real KQ' bandwagon. Heck, I think I even started a thread by that name a while back ::)

How do you become the next game in a series, without being a sequel? ???

Here's the way I look at it.

ES Timeline

There were two games, put outside the main series. They each  were supposed to be the start, of another series.

Results=three different series, same gameworld, same name.

The Elder Scrolls series(RPG)

The Elder Scrolls Adventures series(Action/Adventure)

The Elder Scrolls Legend series(Multiplayer/RPG/Action)

That's the way I look at the KQ games. All were part of the main series, with the exception of Mask of Eternity.

However, KQ IX will get back to the basics of being KQ --- right

In case people think I have no idea what I'm saying, because I've never played the game....

I've played the demo, and unless that was the best part of the game, I think I'd like the game. I'm still looking for a copy too. :(

As far as why I never bought it, it's the same reason it took me a few years to get KQIV(no, it wasn't because of Rosella). I just happend to miss it. :(

*continues looking for MoE*

You could look at it whichever way you want... the important thing is how Sierra labeled it. And if you have any doubts about that, just click on the above link to their website again ::)

I don't think you have no idea what you're saying...
But when someone goes about hyping a game so much when he hasn't even played it himself, some people may think he's only doing it to get a rise out of certain other people ::)

I normally decide I like a game(from a demo), 2-3 years before I buy it(it's normally FAR cheaper by then).

Well LN see the Ebay thread if you change your mind.
