The following thread on the Infamous Adventures forums would seem to indicate that one of their next projects will be a VGA remake of Space Quest II - Vohaul's Revenge.

EDIT: I contacted IA, and their official stance on the screenshot is that they will not currently confirm or deny that it is an actual project.

Sounds pretty good to me. I've never played Space Quest that much. (Alright, so I did when I was younger when I was in school. Yes, my school had space quest, but I only figured that out recently! It's been years since then! I only remember certain things, but it was pretty cool!) I'd like to see a remake, but what I would love is to see a collection of all the remakes sold commericially. That would be pretty cool!

I'm a bit disappointed, the trailer for Project X looked fascinating.  :-\

Yea, I want to see that one.

I still need to play the first SQ, I have it on my hard drive. I'll get to it one of these days... maybe... :P

TribeHasSpoken

They recently started recruiting for animators, and their ad suggested they may be working on more than one project at a time, so I wouldn't give up hope on Project X or QFI.

Man, you King's Quest people need to come out from under your King's Quest rock and play some other games. Space Quest is brilliant. Brialliant, I say! You can't experience the adventure genre without experiencing Space Quest....and loving it! Lol well ok, you don't have to love it...but you have to at least experience it. Get out your old copies and play!

Deloria

I've played the first five SQ's and I just didn't like them as much as the KQ's. Sorry. :P I mean, yes, they're wonderful games (just as all of the Sierra classics are) but I still prefer KQ. :)

I always preferred LucasArts adventure games over most. King's Quest and Legend of Kyrandia are exceptions. :D

The three Monkey Islands that I played were awesome, but that's about the extent of my LucasArts gaming.

If we seem insular, Brandon, I think it's because of our focus on the completion of this game as a goal and not because of a lack of exposure to, or interest in, other adventure games. As far as Sierra goes, I love Police Quest just as much as King's Quest. To answer you more specifically, I think Space Quest is a great series and I've gotten a lot of laughs from it.

I believe it takes a certain type of personality to really appreciate Space Quest the way you do. It is a personality that the Two Guys from Andromeda (three if you include Josh Mandel) have taken from themselves and infused into their games. Likewise, you and other fans have taken that personality from within yourselves and are infusing it into your own games, starting with Replicated and The Lost Chapter.

The type of personality I talk about may be slightly alien to me, but the important thing is that I believe your games reach others who really do get it just like you did. In my mind, that's what fangames are all about.

Heh, that's very true. I was more kidding than anything else :). It's all good.

Three definitely stank if you were a thief. It wasn't to bad as a fighter or magic-user. I think four was the best though I wasn't fond of the fighting style.

Personally, I'd see an original game made rather than another remake. Remakes are fun, but playing a new game where you don't have the walkthrough memorized yet is even better 8)
Quest for Infamy sounds pretty good... I'd rather see that released than SQ2VGA or any other remake they may or may not be making ;)

I agree. QFI would be my first choice too.

I'd choose Project X over QFI, as amazing as that looked.

And they're all still being worked on.

We just like a great variety of themes and styles of adventure games at IA.

QFI and Project X are still in production, and being worked on heavily.

QFI has taken the most amount of time, as we're actually creating a new game from the ground up, not just remaking a game.

That's awesome I look forward to seeing it. Keep us posted please.

Can we take that as a signal that Project X is indeed a remake?
