I don't think they should. It's a design issue, better left out of the plot. :-/

For the same reason, they shouldn't try and explain why Graham's skin was yellow in AGI... :D

Sounds kinda like that girl Yuna in FFX.

I've not personally written any descriptions of Edgar or Valanice, but I hope that Valanice looks as she does in KQ2 (auburn hair, blue eyes...although yes her hair should probably be graying by now) and Edgar is probably better known for his appearance in KQ7 than 4.

Ooo! Say's an Oracle now!! Not just any Oracle, a GREAT one!  :o

I think his skin was yellow because he never went to the bathroom the entire game... of course, that idea didn't catch on after the first two games. ;)

Well, considering how much the graphics sucked ass back then, I think yellow was the closest to a real skin tone they could get (well, technically they COULD have made him a black dude...).  He didn't REALLY have yellow skin, kinda like how the camera adds ten pounds...

Now EYE color, you can't think of an excuse other than maybe "magical" colored contacts...

TakariFreak -
Maybe it's more subtle, but it's still a design issues... besides, it's hard to come up with a better explanation than contacts :D

Storm

Another reason - maybe the light in Eldritch makes some colors look different... :D

Maybe their eyes are hazel? Of course, that might have to be a special hazel for some of the more interesting colors...

Everyone in my immediate family has blue eyes, and we all wear glasses too. I'd like to get contacts, but my sister had them and they were a pain to put in, take out, and clean every night. Maybe I could get the disposable kind. I would have pretty eyes, nice sea-blue with a little green around the pupil, if I had better eyelashes and didn't wear glasses. But no one is ever perfect, most beautiful people in magazine are touched up, models and movie stars have plastic surgery, use contacts, make up, hair dye, teeth whitening, wigs, etc. So the only way to look perfect is to be fake. :P  Of course, in cartoons, you can have people look anyway you want, like very unrealistic.

Contatcs aren't that bad.  You just need to get used to them.  I dont have them, but my sister does.  They actually help improve your vision too.  The lens actually helps slow the deterioation of you vision, and so I hear, actually re-shape the eye lens so you can see better.

They are also cool because the dont have loose screws, and your hair can't get caught in them.

Just don't go into chemistry labs with contact lens...

Bad fumes can potentially melt the lens permanently onto your eyes! Aggghhhh!!!!!

I am avid supporter of contact lenses. I've worn since I was in 8th grade which was...a long time ago! One, I admit I don't give the thorough cleaning every night, but I don't always feel I need to. And for the payoff of not having to wear glasses, it's well worth it to me.

But more or less I'm awaiting the dya I have enough ridiculous amounts of money to get lasik surgery and just have good normal vision at last!

As for that fumes thing....that would have to be some DAMN powerful fumes!!!

I've been wearing glasses since 2nd grade, and by now I need VERY strong glasses. I have contacts, but I never wear them. I never got used to them, and they irritate my eyes very badly.
Also, I think I actually look BETTER with the glasses, since they hide my face a bit... I'd feel naked without them :P

I've had glasses since I was in 3rd grade (thats 10 years).  I'm a lot bliner in my right eye though (the right lens of my glasses is twice as thick as the left).  But I'm the least bline in the household.  My sister is the worst.  It's a good thign she got contacts!  I took my a bit to get used to them, and now if she wears her glasses at night, she looks funny!

I think I tend to look a bit better with glasses.  Without them, I tend to squint to see, and that screws up how I look.  But I have small oval glasses (which I didn't even really like a first, got them because my mom liked the,, and then when I finally got them, I liked them, but my mom didnt!), which makes me look cool.

I think I'd like contacts. Glasses can be a pain, with them breaking, getting hair in them, getting dirty and wet, etc. I wonder if I could get the disposable kind. Maybe after I get some more money I'll look into getting them. I need to get my ear infection cleared up first, I'm having trouble with bacteria in my ears, saw the doctor today. I got glasses in 6th grade, I was starting middle school and I hated it, especially when someone called me four eyes in gymn. My sister's vision is a lot worse than mine.

This kittycat has a pair of glasses on too. Had them since I was a little kid. Since nearsightedness (that is what it's called when you can see nearby but not far, isn't it?) is hereditary (?sp), and both my mother and my father are nearsighted, it's obvious their offspring would be nearsighted as well. Now my eyes are a very sensitive instrument in detecting cigarette fumes from a distance so I don't want to tamper with them. Furthermore, my reflexes are in tip-top shape, meaning I shut my eyelids as soon as anything gets near my eyes, even my own fingers. So lenses, I don't think they're right for me. Anyway, (and here's that age-thing again) I've already reached a time at which the deterioration of the eyesight stops, so whether it's glasses or lenses, my eyesight will remain in the same condition.
Also, with these glasses, they do not break easily, do not get hair caught in them, and dirt or moisture on them can be easily wiped off.
But, it can indeed be a reason for bullying at school. :-/

Maybe it's just cuz of where I live, but it seems 50% of people wear glasses nowadays. And probably another 10 or 20 percent wear contacts. So I guess there's a lot less bullying now than there used to be. I was never called 4eyes.

I was never called 4eyes either, but that could be due to the fact we were all speaking Flemish at that time. ;D
