I think I read someplace about someone who made a VGA remake of Hugo 1, and got a Cease & Desist from the original developer, who claimed he was still making money selling the game... maybe writing shareware really pays off?

Wouldn't making a fangame shareware still be reason enough to get a C&D?   Or did I miss something there?

Sure, the copyright owner has the right to close fangames down, shareware or no. It's just that, since we're talking about a crappy old EGA game that you can download and play freely without paying the author anything, it's a bit surprising to hear the guy is still making money off it

The Adventures of Maddog Williams was a similar case, except the shareware demo only went as far as the first village.

Mythmaster: A Vagabond's Adventure - Qnly for those with masochistic tendencies and a severe EGA nostalgia fit

After struggling with this game on-and-off for over 12 years (mostly off, because it's such an annoying piece of crap), I have FINALLY finished it last night I just had to share this great accomplishment with someone who would appriciate it, and you people are the next best thing

Now I'll be off to write a walkthrough for this miserable excuse for a game... lest others spend their best years hopelessly stuck in it

For some reason I read Mythbusters instead of Mythmaster.

And I know the frustration of being stuck in an obscure game too... I was stuck in Keys to the Kingdom (some biblical text adventure) for years before I found a walkthrough.
