I hear fall so much in reference to school ("fall semester," "fall grades,") I'm rather used to it, but I like the sound of autumn much more.

And, out of curiosity, which is Germanic and which is Latinate?

Autumn is Latinate while fall is Germanic.

Winter only dominates when it snows, if it doesn't then its the worst season of them all.(It didn't snow where I lived last winter.)
