Reminds of when the last book came out, someone was selling t-shirts online that said

Spoiler (mouse over to reveal):

I was just glad I'd already read the book before I saw that, otherwise I would have been quite mad.

Don' go to websites that talk about it :) And ignore anyone talking about it :P

I agree 100%. The week before a Harry Potter book comes out, I avoid pretty much all Harry Potter related websites because I'm afraid of spoilers.

Horror-ish story: when the 6th book came out, I was at Borders standing in line to pick up my copy of Half Blood Prince, when suddenly this guy bursts through the doors, shouts, "RON DIES!" and then runs away. The whole room went reeeeally quiet. I was so angry. Fortunately, after reading the book, I realized he was just making it up. But if anyone does that again this time, I'm going to hit them over the head with my copy. And then perhaps I'll cry.

How about this...if any spoilers are about Deathly Hallows, the person posting must type something before the spoiler to warn everyone else. :) That will let everyone know not to quote the thread :)

And I'm sure come Saturday/Sunday, we'll have a lot of spoilers :)

Spoiler (mouse over to reveal):

I usually am the first person to finish a HP book, so I'm used to not talking about it until it's died down. :P I mean, I go to the midnight parties and don't sleep until I finish the book. :P My mom sometimes tries to ensure that I go to sleep if I'm tired, but she knows it's a hopeless effort. :P

I'd love to be able to read it until I'm done and not sleep and this year I think I'll try.

I tend to read it slow...on purpose...so as to enjoy the book over a longer period and not quickly be done and be like "Crap...I'm already done" Therfore I do avoid the internet except for a few sites where Harry Potter comes up. I'll still be coming to the forums here, but probably avoid the Harry topic like the plague till I'm done, once the book is out :P. Last time I did manage to find out the ending before it happened cause someone I considered a friend didn't care and just felt randomly it would be funny to IM that "Blah blah on page" thing.  >:(

I try to read it slowly...but I'm just not built that way. XD I agree it's probably a better way of reading it. I usually have to read books a few times for it all to sink in.

Ahh its such an internal struggle for me: "Do I read the whole thing without stopping" but then I'll have read all there will be of harry in just one day, or "Do I read it slowly, only a couple of chapters per day"but then I won't get all my questions answered the first time I read it plus I risk the chance of while I'm reading someone just blurting out a spoiler. uhhh what's a fan to do. :-\

I think because I've had a couple "blah" days my excitement level hasn't been incredible for the book. But I think tomorrow night it will rise an enormous amount with the book about to come out. I'm not getting mine till Saturday morning, but I'll probably be there at Barnes and Noble not long after it opens to get it bright and early.
