Hey - I was just searching ebay for kings quest and noticed their is kings quest for nintendo. I never knew that. Is it the same as pc? I always thught kings quest was strictly pc. I can't see it working the same way on a nintendo. It makes me want to buy it just because it seems like it would be different.  ???

I believe King's Quest V was made for both PC and NES, but the graphics on the NES were very poor in comparison.  I'm not sure how well the controls worked on the NES either.

All that is gold does not glitter
Not all who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not touched by the frost

From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king

I believe that they also have KQ1 for the Master System.  At least, I've played it, anyway.

I've been interested in trying out all of these other versions of King's Quest. I remember searching either google or Wikipedia about something, and there popped up KQ5 for the NES. I never knew that a console version of it existed until then. And I think that was like a year or two ago.

Check out the KQ Omnipedia. It says what systems each game was released on.

Thank you Elessar, I'll have to check that out later! If I could, I would definitely own the NES version of KQV just for the fun of it, but I do not own an NES. I used to have a SNES, but I sold it...

Sold your Super NES --- how could you ---  :o ---  :P --- just kidding sort of --- glad I still have mine and it is even still hooked up to the television along with Playstation 2, VCR and the original NES at my folks house --- just a 27 inch Panasonic televsion so nothing really special --- no 5.1 digital sound or any of that fancy jazz --- grin

I sold my SNES for more money mainly, but I know a place to buy them at any time. And I'm keeping it my little secret so that no one goes and buys the stuff that I inevitably will eventually... XD

Dangling

There is a guy who put together a website called VirtualNES.  KQV was one of the games on there so I played it out of curiosity and yeah the PC version was better.  Anyways VNES is basically a website where you can play old NES games via Java.  I won't post a link since I am not sure of the legality of it but I think it is legal.  After all nintendos probably are only available through e-bay or garage sales so at this point the company wouldn't be losing money on it.

There is a store in my neck of the woods that sells all of the old systems. They're all trade-ins from people, and they sell all of the systems (even a virtual boy!). I've seen everything there! It's a great store, and the best part is that it's not part of a big chain (or any chain for that matter... XD) I will probably google that virtual NES thing, see how good it is...
