Are the online voice auditions also held on January 10? I won't be able to make it to NYC you see, not on the 10th of January.

You guys said about having a microphone. Do you mean having one for the actual audition in NYC, or the online ones. I need to know cuz the only mike I have has been the one my Dad bought in 1993 for our first computer, the old Packard Bell, which could only support up to 30 megs. hee hee I feel old.

Yonkey

30 Megs??  What do you mean, it's a digital voice recorder?

Well, a microphone is needed to record your voice for the online auditions.  I guess anything that can digitize your voice would be good (digital voice recorder, some mp3 players, etc) but a somewhat decent microphone (connected to your sound card) would probably be the best in terms of sound quality.

Quote from: Say on December 13, 2003, 03:07:34 PM- If you dont have mic, buy one, if you already do check out it actually works and it wont crap out your recording.
Since my dad films and records theatre plays, I'm guessing that mike will be fine. Although, I'm going to have to find a way to connect that mike to the pc... or find a way to work around that.

Quote from: Say on December 13, 2003, 03:07:34 PM- Try to consider other recording than the one the crappy microsoft thing that comes with every window, just for quality issues, I will get back to you on this since I want to drop in some names of some possible software available for this. And even if you DO use the standart one you will need a mp3 convert.
So the submitting file format will have to be MP3? About the recording software, please feel free to give your suggestions.

A suggestion on WHAT you want us to record would also be nice... I'm not very good at improv.  ;)

If anyone needs an mp3 converter, I find MP3 Workshop to be very useful. Small, free, easy to use, and doesn't need to be installed. :)

The easiest way is to use any sound recording program since most likely they will save in WAV format.  Then you can use that converter Jeysie mentioned to convert it to mp3.

Or, sound recording programs like SoundForge, Adobe Audition and GoldWave (they aren't free but I think there are trial versions of them available) can save your recording into MP3 format directly.

I don't know if I would be anygood at the voices, but I'll help clean up anyone's audio files that they're submitting. I've got Cool Edit Pro 2.1 (professional audio editing software  ;D). I would LOVE to submit a voice you want me to, I've been playing the series since I was 5 and I'm getting a low end laptop just so I can play KQ6 again :). For what to recite, I'd like to know some of the lines you'd like, I have nothing in mind of what to submit without any clues.

TO EVERYONE - please read

the NYC live auditions, to those who emailed and are going to the NY auditions, we will contact you soon, Im aware of the info provided now, dont worry this very same week we are giving you the parts and info needed.

the online auditions read above we will have everything available as soon as possible.

FAQ  ABOUT THE ONLINE AUDITIONS

what are the online auditions about?
if you cant make it to NYC you can submit your audition or auditions from the comfort of your home here at kq9.org, we will the option available in our site for you to get all the info needed and submit your demo

how does that work?
we've created a special link for you (soon to be available) that will be about all the general info/guide about these online auditions, meaning you will have to read the intro first in order to move foward to the submit form, which its most likely the part where all the technical display will show (demo requirements) for you to select the parts (displayed) record them and them upload the file in our site to have it sent directly to us.

what will happen after I upload that file?
you shouldnt have any trouble if updating your audition if you do as told in that form (the file requirement), if you do we already have available contact emails for you to send us whatever the problem is, contact us as soon as it happens and we will try to help you out. In case you successfully upload your file then you should be contacted afterwards in case your demo got approved for our talent director.

Please keep in mind this is a hard work that requires time in case you want to keep updated about this whole process you can keep track of it over here, we will keep everyone posted about it, as well feel free to ask anything about it over this thread. Thanks

Finally got around to discovering these forums.

Anyway, hi.  I met a bunch of you at the audition in NYC on the tenth.  Just wanted to say that I had a great time at the audition.  I am very impressed at how professional it all was.  Best of luck with the project!

Will do, oh commander of the bunnies.

I am still amazed that you all came from all over the country to hold the auditions.  My 10 minute subway ride seems pretty meager in comparison.

Jeysie

Hee!

Well, I admit, I myself didn't really go for the auditions. I went to get to see NYC and to meet some of the crazy peeps on this forum. ;D And to introduce y'all to my roomie, too.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Oldbushie

Same here, I went for the people. ;D I wanted to see if the people were as crazy in real life as they are in the forums, and I was proven right. ;) It's a fun kind of crazy! ;D
