The Jeopardy story

If you look in the archives, you'll find a "haha" topic about my cruise in february.  Oldbushie mentioed that i didn't elaborate on the jeopardy tale!  so, here I go!  Hopefully i can get as much detail in as I can, since it has been a long time...

One night on the cruise, in the big lounge, they had a Jeopary game show going on.  The questions were all music related, sort of like a "Name that Tune".  It was more a fun version than anything, and if someone was falling behing, the host would just make up a question (like "what's your name?") to let them catch up.  Anyhow, earlier, people put their names in a hat to be picked.  My family and I didn't do this, since we weren't interesting in being in the show, but just to watch it.

We sat in teh balcony, righ behind the glass wall.  I sat on the floor in between the 2 couches, simply becuse there wasn't enough room to comfortable hold everyone of us on 2 couches, and it gave me a much better view.

Well, most of the 15 (there were 19 of us total that were on the tip) or so that were there at the time had be consuimg alcohol earlier that evening.  I was underage, so I couldn't, so I was pretty much the only sober one among the group.

So, 2 of them, shouted comments at the contestants (one time they shouted out the answer...), and being smart asses in general.

Now, of course, the comments came from the direction i was sitting.  I was oin the floor in fromt of the glass, and could clearly been seen by the host.  he though I was the one making the comments, and that I was drunk and falling over!

After 2 rounds of the picking from a hat, the host decided to pick random people from the audience.  And guess what, I was picked!

Unfortunatly, it was a short round, And I wasn't fast enough on the buzzer to answer the questions.  I got one "catch" up question, where I wqas asked, "are you too young to get drunk?"  (he asked my age when I went onstage).

I didn't win a cheesy fake gold trophy, but I got a pewter medal for being a runner up.  We have a few pictures from it at home, though they aren't hte greatest quaility (since they were taken form the balcony in a dark area, but all things considered, tehy came out pretty decent for those conditions).

If I find them, and get a hold of a scanner, I'll post them.

Heh, I like the catch-up question. ;D
One time my sister was in something like this, only it was Family Feudish. And one question was: "Is the Atlantic Ocean an Ocean or a Sea?" or something like that, and my sister's group still got it wrong even though she knew the answer. (Kinda el duh, but some of the kids were young I guess.) Her group missed so many easy questions...

Hee, good story, Takari. I feel kinda bad for you, though.

As for more weird stories... it wasn't an actual game, but one time I was at an improv troupe performance, and they played Improv Jeopardy. First, they polled for audience suggestions for categories. Then for each "question", the "contestants" would pick a category, and they'd poll the audience to give the "answer", to which the "contestant" would dream up a funny question to.

This particular time, one of the categories was "Kama Sutra Demolition Derby". And people either were avoiding the category, or just thinking up stuff for the "demolition" part. So when the category rolled around again, I raised my hand, they called on me, and I let out this really loud, cheesy, fake orgasmic moan. It got sorta silent for a while, then about half the people smiled or chuckled, the other half looked puzzled, and the "host" declared, "I *like* this girl's style!". I didn't get the "Best Suggestion of the Night" prize, though. Nuts.

One thing I forgot to mention, somehwere in all this, i was dubbed by the host as "Drunk Girl".  Just before we got of the boat at the end, he said "Bye Drunk girl!" to me as we left!  I didn't see him, sicne he walked by fast..but my mom was laughing...

If anyone else didn't get that(the fact you were sober), it's their problem, because I did. :P
Anyhoo, if you don't remember how many question you had right, do you at least know how many (correct) answers you were apart from the winner?

TYPO ALERT!!!
Let me try to get this straight, there was a quicky round to decide the winner, you got one question right, the winning team had two questions right, so they won. Did I get it right?

there were 3 total games.  the first 2 went for whoever got 5 questions right first.  time was running out (there was a show comming on after), so the last round was whoever got 3 questions right first.

I was like jeopardy, 3 contestants eac game, no teams.  everyone who participated got a gold trophy if they won, or a pewter metal otherwise.

Okay, based on this new information I can give the following anlysis:
1) three games of jeopardy on the same evening, each game being played by three contestants, and you were  a contestant in the third game
2) Because of time problems the 3rd game was cut short
3) Since you got one right, of the two other contestants one must have had two questions right and the other none.
4) Did the loser (3rd placed) also get a pewter medal or only the (1st) runner-up?

ALmost got it.  I got 1 question right, another had 2, and the winner had 3.  the winner got the tropgy, and the otehr 2 of us got medals.

Ah yes, I seem to have overlooked the fact two or all three contestants could have given the correct answer on each of the questions. :P
