And besides that, your last post makes no sense, and (IMO) is just as rude as GunHoMac's because it is bashing the team.

As Koko said, Say left the team of her own accord. It was her decision to go. Where ever she goes, she will succeed in what she does. She was a huge asset to the project, and one of the biggest bridges between community and development, which is always important. She was the bridge that the community crossed over to find out the latest news. Since her time here she has widened that bridge and made it accessible to all, and opened the doors to everyone. She will be missed dearly, and I cannot imagine why someone would bash her for anything. She has been an amazing asset to us all, and she kept us informed as best as possible. Farewell Say, Dew7 and all the others who wish to leave. Thy shall always be welcome here again!

Indeed, even though both of our characters are (almost) completely the opposite, Say has my deepest appreciation for all she has done and apparently could not do anymore, which led her to this conclusion. She's a very ambitious person and I too believe that she will succeed in whatever she tries to do, due to that trait.

The answer to that question is on the first page of this thread. It's continuing, but PR is slowing down so that the project can continue.

You have to love the rumor mill. :P

No, I doubt it. It seems PR and Production have had a few issues, and PR is more or less gone. It does not really follow that production will slow down at all. :)

QuoteMhmm, but Cesar, Say and Dew7 may not have experienced what the people in Africa and Iraq have experienced. Therefore this could be a really major thing for them.

Sorry Dude, but this misses the point ENTIRELY.

Ok then, explain the point.

The point was about trying to get the team back on its feet and not getting people to waste time on negative things that have happened.

Remember, these people are not saying they're just stepping down from the game, they're stepping down, and not coming back to boot. No more interaction with the community, etc, they're done. And being online, it's not like anyone has to go much out of their way to get here.

So whatever happened, it's been bad enough for that sort of reaction. I was using those situations to imply that life is short and whatever it is that's bugging them, it could be a heck of a lot worse. To just say "well, I'm not those people in Iraq, Africa, etc" doesn't, for me, really say anything, because it COULD be you. Why not? Everyone's entitled to their moments of ill will, but if Say, Dew7, and those unnamed individuals still working on TSL who would stand on the other side of their respective conflicts are gonna say they're not only done in the here and now but permanently as well, I figure it's helpful to take a step back and put everything in perspective.

Yeah, you had some fights recently. But hey, click on the national news and I'll bet you'll see tons of people that would probably trade up problems with you.

racx_00

You don't exactly know what's happened so you can't expect people to take a step back and forget it. As for trading problems with other people, I'd happily do that considering my current position.

You want to see some of the passion from say?  Check out these old posts of mine where she went berserk on me:
http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?topic=135.0

Anyway, that was 4 1/2 years ago.  I still lurk every once in a while here just to see if the project has moved anywhere.  I did want to comment on this:

QuoteIt's our fault to have tried to reach the stars. It's our fault to have tried to do something so blown out of proportions and that we weren't able to deliver. It is our fault we've missed deadlines.

Cesar said that, and it was what I had been saying from day 1.  If you look at my previous posts, you'll notice I started believe this project wouldn't get finished.  I said it was too big, and too much to under-take by an amateur team.

If my posts had been given some credibility instead of just being blasted and swept under the rug, you'd have known what I was saying was very relevant.

Then came the decision to just release the 1st 3rd of the game.  Yet, here we are, still waiting on something.

As I always end my posts here, I hope the team finishes this game (at least the 1st part), I'd like to play it, but, it seems to me, the writing's on the wall.  Good luck guys.

I think the reason most people reject your comments is because they generally come across as overly pessimistic and/or sarcastic.  That may or may not be your intention, but you basically started your post by saying "Great screenshots, but <pessimistic rant>...".  That's why you got attacked by pretty much everyone, myself included (although my post and many others got corrupt during a database transfer last year).

If you could have stated your thoughts in a less offensive manner, you wouldn't have been attacked.  That applies to pretty much everyone.

Looking over the past posts, I have to agree that was not really a justified attack by Say and the rest. Beernutts does not think the project will be completed. Well, that's not a totally unreasonable statement, a lot of projects like this die.  Beernutts might have been a little more tactful, but really he never said anything offensive or rude.

That said, I am sure I don't know what the point of dragging that whole affair up again was. I grant it was not Say's finest hour, but that's no reason to drag it up, nor does it have much to do with production of the game. Say, AFAIK, have nothing to do with actually making the game and everything to do with promoting it. Her departure might wreck havoc with PR, but I see not reason it should affect production at all.  :)

As far as I can deduce from the comments originating from the Team working on the game, the project is far from over. Pessimism and wild unfounded accusations are unlikely to be helping the situation. When the team has an announcement to make ... I am sure they will find a way to let us know.

Those rude fans who wish to conduct a smear campaign ... would be better off looking deep within themselves.

Again, Thank you to the overworked Team of people resurrecting our dreams,

I brought up that old post not to take a shot at Say, but actually to show here passion for this game.  How she got so angry that someone (me) would doubt the game, and how vigorously defended it.

I was just showing that POS is losing a dedicated member, and she fought hard for what she believed.

Petra Rocks

Yes, I have no doubt her loss is a great one to both team and forum. That said, as she produced nothing in terms of game creation, her departure will very probably not take away anything from production. Actually, since Yonkey and the rest of PR are now working exclusively on production, it might speed it up.   :P

No, I don't know what's happened -- but I'm guessing there's a certain "worst case scenario" above which it is unlikely to rise. If it did rise above that expectation, Say would probably have grounds to sue someone or bring them up on charges. As for expectations, I don't "expect" them to do one thing or the other. I'm just saying that if we're at the point this is goodbye FOREVER... might it not be wise for all parties to take that step back?

On the subject of trading problems with other people again: I don't know your problems -- I don't know Say's, Cesar's, etc. But I'm gonna take an educated guess and say that if any of us decided to trade our problems with that less fortunate segment of people in nations that are truly suffering, we'd want to trade back pretty quick. Hunger, poverty, violence... these things have a way of changing one's mind very quickly.
