I'm just saying that if we're at the point this is goodbye FOREVER... might it not be wise for all parties to take that step back?
Many changes were made as a result of her decision, mainly in the PR Department.  However, the entire team does not grind to a halt whenever someone chooses to leave.  The team has no choice but to somehow adapt and move on.  If one dwells too much on the past, they cannot concentrate on the present, nor plan appropriately for the future.  At some point you have no choice but to just accept that there will always be things outside of your control.  In this case though, it was mutually agreed upon that goodbye forever does mean goodbye forever.

But I'm gonna take an educated guess and say that if any of us decided to trade our problems with that less fortunate segment of people in nations that are truly suffering, we'd want to trade back pretty quick. Hunger, poverty, violence... these things have a way of changing one's mind very quickly.
Well your educated guess is off.

This forum, let alone this thread, is not intended for fighting. This thread in particular is for saying goodbye to say and other members of the team/forum, in a generally respectful manner. I don't want to get involved with this argument too much, but I think we can all agree to be respectful towards everyone leaving and bring these arguments elsewhere. I know people have their opinions and doubts, as I once did, but I have gained new confidence in the project. I admit that I had lost hope in it for a brief period, but I have found new confidence, and I know that no matter what happens here, that these men and women are dedicated to the project, and will not stop working on this game. Even if it does get scrapped, cancelled, or postponed indefinitely, I know that a shot was made, and an attempt was put forth. That's really all I want to see here. An attempt to bring back the King's Quest series, and they seem to have succeeded in bringing in fans of the series, both young and old. Some people here weren't even alive during the 80's (AKA me, and others) but are nonetheless die hard KQ fans, and want to see an effort being put forward. That effort has been shown, proven, and tried several times. So perhaps we can at least bring these arguments to a different/new thread, but please not here. I am not a mod, so I have no authority, but I beseech you, please stop the arguments.  Let's all just be friends here. The community has been divided, and there are now two sides. Those who still hold hope in the project, and those who have lost all hope entirely. For at least this thread, let's try and unify those sides. Again, I cannot force or command you to do such, as I have no right to do so, but at least please keep it in mind.

I don't see any fighting (well, anymore). On the other hand, Nilan and racx are on the high road to total off-topicness, if they are not there already. XD

Tolin

Maaaaannn...  I really should visit more often.  *sigh*  I'm sad I
missed when this was posted; Say, if you DO happen to see this,
thank you for everything you've done over the years.  I'm bummed
about you being gone but I understand your position and decision.

Best of luck to you.

As for Yonkey and everyone else - keep it up!  This project will always
have my support and its members have my admiration.

If Nilan and racx are not fighting (with words), they're at least argumenting, and if they continue on this road, that could lead to fighting very soon. I think that might be what DD was trying to say.
Until I get a newsletter stating all is lost, I will continue to have hope in the project, and keep supporting them, being their biggest (and probably only posting) fan(natic, for sure) in Flanders, Europe. :D

To Animan, Tolin, CC & others, I just want to thank you guys for continuing to support the project.  The path to get here has not always been easy, so just knowing that you guys understand and care enough to still remain positive says a lot.  It reminds us of why we're still here, and who we're really doing this for.

Sometimes negativity can be overwhelming, so it ends up eclipsing everything positive and good.  But at the end of the day, no one really chooses to be angry, resentful or bitter.  If you could choose, you'd chose not to be any of those things.  They're not attractive or pleasant qualities for anyone to have.  So yes, let's keep the fighting out of this thread because it just doesn't improve anyone's mood, and is ultimately counter-productive.

I'm finding the few negative folks opinions for some reason are eclipsing the good words of many. It's just obnoxious when a few spoil it for the rest by continuing to stay negative, no matter what happens, and if you don't have anything good to say, go elsewhere.

I too have full support and hopes for the entire TSL staff for their continued efforts to try to get this game complete. Thanks for all the hard work you've put in so far, and continued luck to you all!

I think that pretty much anyone here who posts often is positive about this project. It's only people who come in every once in a while for 1 or 2 posts that says, "I told you so, you'll never get it done."

The worst negativity, IMO is from people that DID support the project and now are saying, "I've been saying it from the beginning." No, you haven't. In the beginning you were like, "Hey, I just found this site, the game looks amazing, I love King's Quest, POS you rock!"

There are certain individuals who have displayed the aforementioned characteristics (almost EXACTLY) but I'm not going to point fingers.

Look, I really have no interest debating how bad someone's got things right now, and people are starting to grumble. So why don't we just concentrate on discussing the game, and then after it's out we can all mutually hate each other with abandon.

Petra Rocks

Encore, except for the mutually hating part. :P I mean, if it really makes you feel good I shan't stand in the way of your pleasure, but in my experience hating people is far more trouble and emotional investment than it is worth. In the last analysis, I am simply too lazy to go to the trouble of really hating somebody, a practice I find it makes life much less stressful.  ;D

Nilan

Well, that part was really just me being a touch sarcastic.  :P

Say,
I know I don't know you, but I've come and gone on the forum (most of the time when I've visited and read posts and whatnot I haven't always been logged in) and alot of the posts I remember reading I remember seeing atleast a reply from you or someone mention you so it'll be sad to see you go (I know this is probably an old thread, but I just came upon it)

I wish you the utmost best of luck in all you do

Petra Rocks

It is actually some 3 weeks old now, but the last post in it was just yesterday. :)

dark-daventry

And now the next post is two days later... XD I've been on the forum for a while now, and it seems longer than it actually has been, and I've been through a lot on the forum. I've kept with the project no matter what happened to me. I stuck in there and NEVER gave up. I strived for what I believed in. As long as this project was attempted, and brought to the minds of thousands of fans across the world, I am content. I am glad that some people remain positive about the project as I do. This project was ambitious from the very beginning, and it's had dedicated people working on it, using their own free time to work on it. I salute them for doing what they do, and how they hang in there and still maintain their daily lives. To all wjho read this, let's keep this forum as peaceful as possible. Would Roberta and Ken Williams want you to fight over one of their most beloved games? Would King Graham and Queen Valanice want you to be fighting over their kingdom? Let's all stay positive, and keep this forum accepting of all. When I first joined, it was my first time EVER on a forum, and I had no clue what I was doing, but because of all the dedicated and courteous forum members, I now devote a lot of my time to forums, and not just this one. Thanks to POS and TSL, I have become even more addicted to the internet...

*Seconds what dark-dav said.* Here, here! :P

Dark Daventry,
I consider myself a postive member, but reading your posts always make me more loyal and happier to be in this community.

Also, to everyone else, hang in there! The end result will be fantastic! (Or should I say POStastic!) Anyway, whenever I feel a bit down about this project, I watch the making of video and I get so inspired by their hard work and dedication. Do you want an update? Watch it again. I bet that there's something you originally missed.

Yeah I didn't mean to become negative by slamming on negative folks...I still have all the respect in the world for the people working on the project and all the faith in the world that when TSL is released someday, it's going to be an awesome experience :)

And jen, great images !

I'm glad that my posts touch people. This project is one that will live on in the memories of us all forever, no matter what happens to it. I have faith in the team, as I know they themselves are fans, just like us. The fans hold the true power. Only the fans can bring something truly magical to life. An official game cannot compare to the efforts of the fans and what they can accomplish. The fan always remains loyal despite what may happen. I'm not saying the negative folks aren't fans, as we all are, and each has their own way of expressing their support for the series. LONG LIVE TSL AND POS!!

And jen, great images !

Thanks!!!  I'm actually trying to work on more, and maybe better graphics.  See, For the domain I'll be getting in January, I'll have a small sub-site (each) dedicated to my four main loves from the 1980s (I'm an 80s baby since I was born in 1982)  Care Bears, Thundercats, Wildfire & Kings Quest....one of my problems is it seams I can't find many really good KQ images out there  (yeah, my decent Wildfire images are limited too), aside from this site, but that wouldn't be too legal  each show's section will have lots of content
