With pinying, I believe. You type the word as it should sound phonetically (with accents for the tones) and the sign will show up. The most common signs are also on the letter keys, so you can switch between them.

Pretty much. There are programs to do the interpreting for you... in at least some cases, you can be lazier than that: you enter the word and the tone as a number (ie- ma1, syllable ma, tone 1) and a list of options will appear if there are several homophones... Chinese seems to be rife with homophones and even some homographs...

When did you last feel hyper?

I always get hyper when I'm drunk, which is rarely.  My friend fed me something called an AMF ("Adios Mother ______")a couple weeks back and I was wired.  I was bouncing all over the place.

I don't think I've ever been thoroughly drunk... the most I've ever been is lightly buzzed... (nerd-meter should be sounding about now) when me and a bunch of friends got a bottle of wine and played some DnD...

It was alright in high school & elementary school.  University-level math, on the other hand, made me want to hurl.

Technically, I like to believe calculus got me my current boyfriend, so absolutely. Go math! (One day, I'm going to find a huge sheet of cardboard and cut 4 squares out of the corners make a box with optimized volume, I swear)

Was and still is English.  I'm a big-time English nerd even now.  'Course I AM going to be a librarian...
