Fantasy Film League!!!

Right lets see how this goes...

In the UK we have things called "fantasy leagues". I'm not sure if they're done anywhere else but I'd of thought they're quite popular. Anyway theres a mega cool (and did I mention free) website which hosts a fantasy film league.

With the Fantasy Film League, you basically pick a cast of six and a director for your own film, and all of their costs have to fit within the $70 million budget. Some actors, like Tom Cruise, Elijah Wood etc are incredibly expensive, while some are really really cheap. Once you have your cast and director and have named your movie, you are then awarded points/earnings for your film based on the money the movies bring in that your people are in. The trick is to find actors that aren't too expensive but are going to be in enough films that earn big money.

If anyone wants to start this I'll make a KQ9 mini league on the site and we can see how we do. The only thing is that you can only make four films a year and the next one wont start untill January, but once you do make one it runs for a year.

Interesting! I wouldn't be very good at it though, as I average 1 or 2 movies a month. And I can't be bothered to memorize all those famous people's names, I have like 20 favorites around and that's it.

I might give it a shot, though, since it's not exactly a time-consuming thing or anything.

ah good good interest already! Well you've got plenty of time to swot up on film stars (2 months to be exact) and all the names are listed i the database on the site so just pick random ones if you dont know anyone. I've created a mini-league there so if anyone wants to join heres the details you need:

Yeah, sorry I shoulda explained that bit. You create your own personal account then you make your film. The film is not only entered into the little-league but the main league of every single registered member. You can join as many little leagues as you want and even create some as well!

EDIT: Oh and Bushie..."I'm going to throw my **** at you" gotta love the conker hehe

Alex, this fantasy flim sounds awesome.  I'm going to check it out now.  I LOVE film!  I think it's the perfect thing for me to sign up for.  We have fantasy football and fantasy baseball and my officemate participates in that, but I didn't know there was fantasy film!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!  Right up my alley!!

I made one already that has Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, as well as some hot chicks and funny guys. So is picking actors and the title all you do? Or do you get to choose a plot as well? I'd like to at least put a small description of what the film would be, since the title doesn't exactly say precisely what the movie will be.

The movie is called "The Legend of the Blue Monkey".
