The GOOD: Erik's and my first Thanksgiving as a married couple
The BAD: my parents have ended up sick, so they've canceled their Thanksgiving
The GOOD: we're taking today and relaxing, not running around like we usually do.

THE GOOD: I just made it home from Portland and it was a quick drive.
THE BAD: I woke up with a sour stomach and have been fighting the urge to gag all day.  But...
THE GOOD: I'm going to run to JoAnn's and see if there are any cheap Cricut cartridges left.

The BAD: failing at congratulating people...

The BAD: feeling really tired
The GOOD: almost done with an application for an internship this summer
The GOOD: if I ever manage to finish my statement of purpose I will be basically done with all of my grad school apps.

The BAD: the statement of purpose rather brutally refuses to finish itself...

The BAD: Caught some sort of infection due to my immune system being depressed.
The BAD: Either I'm allergic to amoxicillin or the infection is really mono and the two had a bad reaction when combined.
The GOOD: Don't feel too bad, whatever it is.
The GOOD: Less than a week till Jacob gets here!
The BAD: He has to leave before Christmas.
The GOOD: Doctor's willing to give me a MRI just to rule things out.

The GOOD: Had a pretty long/nice day with friends.
The GOOD: Got some nice presents.. movies and CDs and such.
The GOOD: Great food!
The BAD: Still feeling kind of blue and depressed.
The BAD: Missing someone.

THE GOOD: I am fed and watered, and therefore no longer grouchy.
THE GOOD: Christmas lights are up and twinkly!
THE BAD: I only have five minutes until I have to go back to work.
THE GOOD: Only 2 more days till payday, though.

The BAD: Do in fact have mono.
The AWESOME: Finally got a diagnosis! (a bleeding disorder called von Willebrands disease).
The ANNOYING: I was told seven years ago that I didn't have it when in fact, apparently, I really did.
The INTRIGUING: Next summer after they do the definitive test to make sure the diagnosis is correct I could go on the show Mystery Diagnosis...
The GOOD: It's almost Monday

The BAD: Immy is being a pain, walking over my computer, hitting keys that I don't know how to fix...

The BAD: My brother not being able to make it for Christmas because he is sick.
The BAD: A certain friend really annoying me today because he has to make everything much more complicated than it needs to be.
The GOOD: Possibly going out tonight with other friends.
The GOOD: It's snowing again... hopefully it won't melt before Christmas Eve. *Crosses fingers*

The GOOD: I didn't have to go in and got to go back to sleep

The BAD: It snowed in Greensboro so the annual family Christmas party, which I was really looking forward to taking Jacob to, got canceled.
The BAD: Jacob had to fly back home for Christmas.
The GOOD: He's coming back to stay for a couple weeks in January.
The GOOD: Almost christmas.

THE BAD: I had to work a split shift, so I'm returning to work in half an hour.  However...

BAD: OMG WHY DON'T STATEMENTS OF PURPOSE WRITE THEMSELVES!!
BAD: trying to work in stuff about alternative theories that I have a superficial understanding of at present (but an interest in learning more about) into said statement...

BAD: my parents don't believe in central heating (this  ...this is me (we don't seem to have one quite blank enough to represent my level of "amusement" with this scenario)) we have central heating, they just don't believe in it... it's not even an eco-thing, it's an economizing thing... well, I guess that is an "eco-thing" just not an ecology-thing... BAH, you know what I mean...

BAD: the cold makes me crazy-ier
GOOD: worked on a new conlang today... I actually need it to help with another one b/c they're supposed to be related... problematic...
BAD: attempts to work on the statement of purpose have consumed today... they weren't even productive attempts!
GOOD: researched and read about cool astrophysics-y things for it though--it was fun
