Storm

Welcome back! you were sourly missed the last 48 hours ;)

How did the autidions go? did you get a good part? can't wait for that report and the pics...  :D

Quote from: Jeysie on January 11, 2004, 07:07:32 AMWe thought of several of you while we were there. Especially Storm, since there was some working on of the script and looking at artwork and listening to music while we were there, and Storm had to miss out getting to see it! :suffer:

Oh, make me jealous, why don't you   ::)
Well, at least I was with you in spirit, if not in person... even if it just means you were talking about me behind my back :P

Psst... Jeysie... did you hear anything about that easter egg that supposedly concerns me? Just tell me if it's too humiliating  :o

Well, I sadly couldn't get to do the rest of the interviews because we spent all that night casitng and the next day ready to leave, so I didn't get a couple of people, but I can still do an editing job on the tape and post something in the future.

Thank you to all who made to New York this weekend. IT was so FUN. I will post a greater report later. :)

As for making the game... well, at this point I know that scriptwriting apparently consists of Katie and Cesar making random comments about dialogue and sniggering like maniacal little kids planning a prank. ;)

Quote from: Yonkey on January 11, 2004, 08:05:33 AMCan't wait to see the pics (and video, someone better convert it to digital :P)!   8)

Cesar has some video. Once the auditions were over there was still a bit of film left, so he filled it by pointing it at everyone in our group. There's a funny "interview" with Allert (at least, the bits I overheard were funny), and just randoms shots of everyone. Especially Katie... Cesar seemed to enjoy bugging her. Keep in mind, though, that Cesar was doing all this videotaping on the NYC sidewalks, inside the restaurants, inside the subway, etc. And in the midst of a posse of 7-13 people, to boot. I think we totally creeped out a good chunk of the natives. :suffer:

Just so you're warned, Cesar plans on doing interviews of all of the team members. :suffer: :suffer:

Peace & Luv, Liz

Yup, that's pretty much how it happens ;D

Mike, I was going to reply to some quotes in yours but I was about to quote the whole damn thing, so forget that.

I had an AWESOME time too!!! THanks so much and thanks in advance for putting me up this coming weekend, too! Hehehe. Hmmm, yes the train conductor blues, Liz, Harrison and I waiting in the movie theatre for a 30-minute long '10 minutes' for Mike and bushie (aaron) ;D Liz and I kind of oddly looking at one anther when I came into the theatre with a suitcase and taking a minute to figure out, yes, I do know you!

Oh! Allert buzzing up to Mike's apartment and we all find out what Dutch sounds like ;-) "Greet him in his native language!" The speaker was messed up, so it sounded all messed up when he said who he was, hence the joke  ;)

Ohhh what else. Mike, you handled the auditions very well! Your description of the main baddie's motivations time after time after time got more and more compelling! And the person chosen for that guy...SO GOOD!!! Oh man. Perfect for it. You'll all be scared. SCCCARREEDDD!!!  :o

Haha, post our auditions? Oh dear! LOL. Well, I'm happy with what I got. :) And sitting around watching the tapes and casting was really fun too! As someone said, "we need to start a company, this is too much fun!"  hehe.  Highly agreed!

And then there was radio announcer guy who auditioned randomly....and insisted on, rather than standing in the room like everyone else, sitting at the table we were at and being RIGHT in front of the camera.

"You don't need to eat anything...porker!" Ahh, the trio. God bless them for showing up! ;D Three guys who came in together and were hilarious, and we will definitely be using them a lot!!  We've just begun referring to them as that, The Trio.  :D

Oy. All I can think of right now! Haha. And yeah, great times had by all, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! (yes, I am practicing!)

Quote from: mfortunato on January 12, 2004, 06:48:26 AMI just can't tell you all how much fun I had this weekend.  Meeting you face to face was simply incredible!  I laughed so hard during this weekend I was doubled over in pain - AND STILL LAUGHING!!!!!

Oh, I know, I know. I haven't laughed that much in quite some time. BTW, I still want to be the game laugh track! :suffer: Just kidding!

Quote from: mfortunato on January 12, 2004, 06:48:26 AMI only wish I could have been a little more awake - I hope I wasn't too insane for you all.  I'm one of those hyper-tired people.  I get more wired the less sleep I get - until I'm pretty much manic.

Hah, don't worry. I'm very much a "giddy and slap-happy" person myself when I'm tired. Besides, we were *all* insane, so you made us feel right at home! ;)

Quote from: mfortunato on January 12, 2004, 06:48:26 AMOh, Jeysie, five minutes is actually a LONG amount of time for auditioning.

<snip>

Oh, I know. But Storm did want to know how the auditions went, so I was honest. It was short. Hee.

Quote from: mfortunato on January 12, 2004, 06:48:26 AMOh, Liz, I have to say, Harrison's jokes were funnier more often than you predicted - I would say at least 50% of the time ;)

Hee! Well, Harrison's jokes are kind of like the girl of nursery rhyme with the curl on her forehead... when they're good they're very, very good, and when they're bad they're horrid. ;D Of course, I'm used to his jokes by this point... pity me, pity me. :D

Quote from: mfortunato on January 12, 2004, 06:48:26 AM("dunh, dunh, dunh....I woke up this morning....dunh, dunh, dunh, headed out to my train....dunh, dunh, dunh, dunh....hopped into my conductor's car....dunh, dunh, dunh....ate a bagel, it was plain.....dunh, dunh, dunh, dunh....watched tired cranky people.....dunh, dunh, dunh, dunh....heading off to work....dunh, dunh, dunh, dunh....one of them shoves the other....dunh, dunh, dunh, MAN THAT GUY'S A JERK!!!!  WHOAH!  I've got the train conductor blues!").

Hee! Oh, the train conductor blues, that was classic! We're going to have to explain that one, I think. Actually there's a lot of stuff we'll have to explain, hee.

Quote from: mfortunato on January 12, 2004, 06:48:26 AMWith their permission, perhaps we can put our auditions on the kq9 website somewhere - for all of you to view and laugh at ;) - I'm inlcluding myself in this, btw.  At any rate, I'll put mine up :D - I'm such a LEO (what can I say?).

Hah, Mikey, you're a Leo? I should have guessed. Harrison's a Leo too... that's why he lives to perform.

Anyhoo. I don't mind having my audition being posted. In fact, I'm kind of curious to see it... there's at least a couple spots I know I must have looked kind of doofy, whee!

Peace & Luv, Liz

Jeysie

Oh, a recent funny story for you guys. I had told my co-workers last week I was going to NYC, so when I got in this morning they wanted to know how the trip went. So I told them, you know, it was incredibly fun, it was incredibly cold :D Then the conversation went something like this:

Co-Worker #1: So, what did you go to NYC for?
Me: To audition.
Everybody: Ooh, cool, neat, etc.
Me: Err... for a computer game.
Everybody: (sort of confused and brought up short) Er, oh.
Co-Worker #1: I thought you meant like, Broadway or something.
Me: (laughing) Heck, no.
Co-Worker #2: A... computer game, eh?
Me: Yep.
Co-Worker #2: Huh. Interesting. Well, uh, that's good.
(Everyone sort of wanders off.)

Hee. My co-workers seem like all nice people, but computer geeks they definitely are not. :suffer:

I just wanna say I had an unforgettable time seeing you guys in real life. My first encounter was with Cesar friday at 12 AM. Mike wasn't home yet so I kept ringing the front doorbell... no answer...ringring.... no answer. So I kept waiting at the appartment, until this hispanic guy who sat in his car across the street got out, and went at me like: "Ey, homes, lemme get you inside." So I got up and went into the building and arrived at mike's appartment door and knocked three times. And behold, a very tired looking/sounding Cesar Bittar opened the door, and it was like: "Cesar? Hey, it's Allert..." That was great stuff. And finally meeting Katie, Mike, Liz, Aaron, Harrison, and of course Cesar again that same night was simply awesome.

After a good night sleep,  ;) , the auditions were next on schedule. Mike, I wanna thank you for being such a nice guy during my auditioning. I must admit, I was getting a bit nervous telling you about my speech-impediment. You simply showed all the auditionees you're a great judge, and bring up all the best in every single one of the contestants  ;)

I found it to be a shame though I wasn't there to see Mike and Cesar auditioning. I guess I'll just have to wait for the release of the footage we made. I also had a great time interviewing Cesar, walking through the NYC streets, and subways.

Anyway guys, thank you all for letting me hang out with you those days...I won't forget you! I'll also try to spend as much time on the models as I can during the progress of my animation-short.
