Eh, I think you got a bit mixed up there. The only way to scare the snake off is by using the tamborine - you can't turn into a mongoose before the end of the game, and then that's a different snake you're fighting ;)

Snakes in the KQ universe just don't like moving.  Maybe they're introverts.

yeah that's true, 'cause kq5, you have to go up to the snake with the tambourine, but he stays in the same place for hours while you get the tambourine!

Your absolutely right!  The Mongoose vs Snake fight is indeed at the end of the game.  Not sure why I was thinking that was an alternative to using the tamborine.  **lol**

i could be wrong, but in my experience, there aren't any alternate ways to do things in kq v.

There isn't.  I was simply thinking of the two times in KQ5 that you encounter a snake and the way you deal with said snakes.  The last time I played KQ5 was back in 1991... when I was 12 years old (I just turned 30 in January).  Of course... despite the fact that it's been 18 years since I played KQ5, it speaks volumes about the impact the KQ series has had on me that I'm able to remember such details about them... and how close the KQ series is to my heart.

I would if I still had them.  They are still packed away somewhere at my parent's house (read: lost in a black hole).  The only KQ games I have now are the AGD remakes of KQ1 and KQ2 and the IA remake of KQ3.
