Well, it is called "The Longest Journey"  ;)
How long is that game? never played it myself  :-\

If you've played before, 20 hours, otherwise 40 hours. ;)

20 hours for a replay? I don't think I ever played an adventure I couldn't re-finish in one afternoon (or one afternoon and most of the night :P)
On the other hand, only double that time if you never played it before probably means it's not that hard ;)

same here. :)

there was only one game i couldn't beat in an afternoon, it took about a day but I forgot the name of it. ???

Jeysie

When I first play a game, I play it "straight", trying to do everything right. But when I replay a game I poke my nose into *everything*, and try to do all sorts of weird, bizarre, and generally totally wrong things, so that usually helps to keep the replay time extended. :D

Oldbushie

Yeah, sometimes it's fun to look for the extra things in a game. :) Certain games are so long or tedious though that I do not care to go through them again, only the fun ones are fun to replay to the extreme. ;) Though when I play, I usually try everthing possible, especially when there's no danger of dying. Otherwise I save like a rabbit, every 5 minutes sometimes. Especially when my computer's been crashing a bit lately. ;)

It's OK, we'll just talk to the newbies, too. :) Don't forget, we all were newbies once (and some of us still are)... nothing wrong with newbies.
Some of us like me!

:o
I'm not really shocked, I just thought that my post looked a bit empty and I liked the way that face looked.

Normally, by the time the game is released, I shouldl be a magical genie, and no longer a wizard, so I can no longer have anymore 'wizard's slaves. Maybe you could introduce the rank 'Genie's slave?' ;D

When I first play a game, I always do it the fastest way possible (meaning no side-quests, if possible). When replaying, I also try all sorts of different things, though not as fanatic as Jeysie.

Also, on the first try, there's a lot of saving, on the second try I only save when I try something that might turn out the wrong way, and it may well be I always save in the same slot.

How do you decide, on their first post, whether or not they're really committed? (BTW, I definitely need a faster pc, this one's mixing up letters (like it's dyslexic)). Besides, I don't think I introduced myself with a thread, but that's probably because that happened about three forums ago, and I just don't remember.
Heck, I don't even recall how I found this site/forum. I even subscribed twice to the newsletter, because I couldn't remember the first time I got here and since I hadn't received any issue in the meantime, also couldn't remember I already subscribed. ;D
BTW, did KQ IX have a forum from the beginning? If not (I don't think you did), how long did it take since KQ9.org to make a postudios.com/blog/forum?

hahaha, omg me too, I usually just like to play the entire game, not like -just to get over with it- more like -I wanna see what this game is about- sort of like, so yeah I also try to not take side paths or stuff just get to the main thing to do on the game :)

hahaha, well I have a hard time recalling myself as well Its been a looong time, I remember I was one of the first posters around here, this was freaking empty (back in like march 02 or so), I was even scared to post Im wasnt a forum person then, neither I was very much like... OLD around the team to be doing those sort of things, I even remember I think I asked Cesar if I could posted here and stuff hahaha, so funny

It was also really hard to post since I was one of the few, and the other ppl didnt use to post much, that's why cesar and rich joined me eventually :D, and then came along as well andrea, and storm and so on :)

I don't have anything against newbies... as long as they remember to turn on the gender tag, so I won't have to tip-toe around pronouns ;) Besides, if they decide to become regulars they usually blend in pretty quick  :D
I remember the old days where I was a newbie... I don't think I ever made an intoductory thread, but my first post was on a "why does everyone hate Connor" so the important stuff was said right then  :P  I think that thread is what provoked me into posting on the forums in the firstplace (I never posted on any forum before) - It seemed to me people were too lenient with him here 8)

I try to do all the side-quests on the first round... when playing the game for the first time, I don't always know which side-quests are needed to finish the game. If I liked the game and can think or stuff I haven't tried yet, I'll play it again and try that on the way to finishing it for the second time. What you call "fanatic" I like to call "exploring to the extreme"  8)
However, when I need to finish a game just to playback some scene, check something out or show it to someone, I can usually do it in a few hour at most  ;D
