Hehe, yeah.  I've been looking through archives a lot the past few days.   There are way too many amazing posts to list.  ;D  I wonder what ever happened to our old forum regulars?   ::)

in fact, one of the first things we got to know about storm is that she does hate connor :P
Actually, it was the very first thing. I think it was even before I set my gender tag  :P

Either they got some very time-cosuming obligations and can't post, got tired of posting or moved to another forum (ie. AGDI). Then there's always the possibility Cesar scared them away...  :suffer:

I've been looking at those too, and I often find myself going "I can't believe I posted that crap! WHAT WAS I ON BACK THEN? too bad the thread is locked..."  :o :o :o

And if you want to retake an old thread from the past (sort of like to post on it) feel free to do so! omg on those archives are so many old threads I wouldnt mind you open one and link it to the old archives and make a sequel on the current threads :D

Hehe, that's why you have to give them a reason to stay!  :)

But how do we go about giving them a reason to stay on this forum?
racx_00, you don't want them coming in, and then never return. How can they never return if they haven't been here in the first place? You see to return (even if it's never), you have to have been here at least once.

I absolutly love when people sign up and likes to hang out with us, because it is amazingly fun to have different opinions all over, plus its seriously great to have new victims... I mean, friends :D

honestly, more than to give them reasons to stay, it has to be to give them options to come around :D, I dont mind everyone showing up opening new threads and stuff since I want the fans to feel comfortable around here, and to know they are also heard, the fact some of your comments are mentioned here and the main directors are usually not around, doesnt mean that -I- wont let them know about that :P

So honestly, its always great to have newcomers wether they stay or not, its always great to see new users, ahd recieve more comments, I do know even though many of them dont actually post as us... some of them DO read ;)

First of all, try not to go all loony on them right away.
Then, tell them all regular posters are automatically accepted to do the beta testing for the game, which will begin next month (a little white lie never hurt anyone  :P). If that doesn't work, start arguing with them about something (anything, even the color of the sky). They'll have to return and go on arguing so they wouldn't come out looking like LOOSERS.  8)

You might also try this - the team's personal favorite:
Tell them something big is going to happen SOON. Don't tell them what, and don't EVER give a specific timeframe - that way they'll have to stay and wait for it  :suffer:

The sky is white, is it not? And right now, it's fairly black, sometimes with little white dots. :D

Ofcourse, if they just wait, they'll notice soon enough nothing is happening soon, so they'll leave anyway. :-\

The thing I said about "giving newbies a reason to stay", I was being vague on purpose. ;D  There's actually no right or wrong way to do this because we all do it differently, both intentionally and unintentionally.   :D

And yeah, it is different from an administrator/moderator's perspective, a team member's perspective, regular forum member's perspective and a newbie's perspective.

Copycat, you're right.  The team teasing we do doesn't work on newbies, it only works on you guys. ;D  But seriously, there's a reason why we don't tell everyone our plans beforehand or give out too many details.  I don't even need to spell them out for you guys.  Just try telling your mom/dad/sister/brother you have a really nice present for them that you know they'd love but you're only going to give it to them on their birthday.  Watch what happens.  8)

HAHAHAH!! :D

wtf, seriously though, I can't say all that there is done for the past like... wtf, 4 months in webteam since I dont have an exact date when to release all that crap! in MY case its not not let your hopes high to let you all down then, things come and go and since it was only neil and me before I do have to attend PR which strangely its more time consuming than Web since I do depend on third parties for EVERYTHING... so its not as easy as it looks to be keeping an eye here and there, thats in MY case why I dont like to reveal things out in the open, since our original plan was to release everything on december yet the auditions thing was a given, then we had to promote, do the ftp crap everything  :-X, Im not complaining though but Im not explaining any further on this :D but I already explained MY case ;)

And oh yeah, I dont even like telling Cesar at times since wtf he is spoiler man, neither of you were supposed to know about the teaser, yet you all do, lol, WTF BITTER SPOILER MAN, Im seriously thinking about banning him :D

Come on, Say! I can definately remember you doing the "something is going to happen... soon..." bit  :suffer:

Yonkey -
I would still rather have a date on those things. Otherwise I start going "didn't they say something about something that's going to happen soon back in August? has it happened yet?" like I do right now.  ;D
"Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

Yonkey

Giving a date's even worse!  :P  It's like everyone counts down the days until the deadline.  And if it's not ready by then?  Yikes.  :o I'm not just talking about here, I mean even in real life it's hell.   ::) Personally, I only like giving out dates when I'm 100% sure I can meet that deadline.  But, most schedules, deadlines & dates are kept within the team anyway.

So yeah, deadlines is one issue.  But also not wanting to spoil too many surprises is another reason why we don't post everything in public.  :)

Counting down is fun! and if you're afraid you wouldn't make the deadline, just give a really far one, one you're sure to make, and surprise us if it's done sooner  :P

Couting down is fun... when you're not the one that has to meet the deadline!  :P

But ok I'll take your advice.  All deadlines will be no later than December 31, 2009.  5 years should be enough.  8)  ;)
