I was fooling around with a MIDI composition program and came up with this.  It's just an experiment, but I had King's Quest in mind when I made it and thought it was worth sharing.

'Course, I had to post it here cause I didn't see any section for "Fan Music."

The general theme for this MIDI may be as such: the hero rescues a kingdom in a foreign land, a celebration ensues among the people, the king thanks him, the people in that kingdom gain more hope.  Something like that.

Nice!  :D

It made me think of someone sailing a ship across the seas.  ;D Then it turned a bit majestic!  Cool!  :D

I'm glad it made you think of that.  I like music you can write stories to and associate with images, so that's what I try to create.  I just think it's more interesting that way.

Storm

Nice!!! and very King's Quest-like  ;D

Cakewalk, though there are others out there.  With Cakewalk you program the key and time signatures, then punch in the notes individually for each instrument.  It's really time consuming, but all the instruments line up real nice that way.

Sounds very Final Fantasy-ish...

Say

I think it sounds more kq-ish :D

because final fantasy has more of a fantasy theme, kq its more adventure like, sort of what I felt like when I heard the midi :)

lol, I wanted to go out adventureous ;D (or whatever the hell that's spelled... if that's even a word, lol)

Wicked nifty.
I wish I could write music with my computer like this.
Alas, I use NoteWorthy Composer and I am not so good with music writing.

I'm getting a feeling I may have picked up that initial melody with the flute from somewhere else... I got the tune in my head before I wrote it, and it sounded vaguely familiar.  If anybody has heard that melody anywhere else, I'd like to know.

Jeysie

Hmm. You're right... I've definitely heard that somewhere before myself. I can't place where either, though.

A friend of mine swears that melody is from Final Fantasy.  Which is strange, because I don't play Final Fantasy and I don't see how I could have picked it up from that.  But at any rate, I'm hesitant now to say that MIDI is really mine, since that part of the melody was borrowed.  It's really hard to say.

Jeysie

The only Final Fantasy I've seriously played is FF1... so if it is from FF, it's gotta be from that one. I personally was going to say it was from Chrono Trigger, but I'm not certain. I'll have to download and listen to some CT midis.

Can someone PLEASE!!! Send me this Midi, I can't access either of them so if someone could email or PM or whatever them to me that'd be great...ta!
