I never played (or even saw, for that matter) any Final Fantasy, but the begining of the theme sounds familiar to me as well... can't recall where from though

Yay finally heard it Wow thats really nice, I love the harp part in the middle and I think it might be just that thats making people think final fantasy after the crystal theme thats used in like EVERY game. Still i can't actually place from where its from so I wouldn't be too worried just keep on writing you've got a good talent there. Nowwwww.....can someone link the other one as well??? please??? EDIT: ACTUALLY I'd have to agree with Jeysie on the chrono trigger resemblence(ugh spelling) as it reminds of the millenial(ugh spelling again) fair. Still thought its not THE exact tune and part of being a musician is robbing other peoples work and making it better. Look at Bach :p

Well the first 4 notes of "medieval" sound very much like the beginning to the Gilligan Island's theme .

I totally dig the medieval theme.

It sounds very much like a Celtic piece.  That may just be where the similarity to something someone has heard is.  The beginning actually sounds similar to Conquest of the Longbow - but again, that was another Celtic themed piece.

That little flute piece isnt from CT or FF3/6 through 9... because I simply have never heard it. Is it possible its something from Zelda? Ive never played zelda but it sounds like it could be taken in part from that.

Nah, it can't be from Zelda. I've never played any of the Zeldas, yet the tune sounds familiar to me.

I still swear its Chrono Trigger at the festival....not the exact tune but its pretty similar. Oh yeah I'll post one of my current compositions in a bit I need some feedback if thats ok with anyone who wants to give feedback? Be as brutal as you wish

Hahaha, I actually liked the comp3.mid one the best!  

The first one got a little annoying after a bit, the second one was quite a lot better, but had a few odd things in there.

Hahaha wow and thats 50 BMP slower than how it should be as well! I like rhythms   especially making stuff that no one can play. I shall work on comp3 with more zest now! Ta! Oh and of course theyre all still works in progress so thats why they all just kinda stop.

All three are great, Alex!  I love the chords used in the first two, so those I think are my favorite.  There's some lovely, lush chords used.

I'm going to post two pieces that I wrote for a show we just finished.  I did sound design for a new modern adaptaion of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.

The first piece was used at the end of the show.  It's repetitive because it was used as transition music.

The 2nd piece wasn't used in the show.  But I like it.  It was concept music for Brutus' death.

Let me know what you think! (when I upload them - give me a bit and I'll have them up).

Ahg teh bloody Geocities curse   My IE never lets me go to ANY geocities pages it just comes up with an error message. I reckon its some kind of settings that are different to the norm....anyone heard of this happening?
