You can't blame a cat for reprocicating (this is probably spelled all wrong) a move made by you. You must have met on of the offensive cats which adheres to the principle: you hurt me, I hurt you back.
Oh and trust me, if that cat wanted you dead, you'd be dead, and not dying. So you can't have been dying.
racx_00, you must mean there are many universes, some not very unlike our own. However, they've all evolved differently, so they're not 10 seconds behind each other or anything. Ever seen the tv-serie 'Sliders'?

Quote from: Yonkey on February 06, 2004, 07:07:38 PMDid they ever get to their proper dimension?  ???
In their original casting, they went to their original dimension, but they didn't have much time to see whether it was the right one. So Quinn tested the hinge on the porch on his front lawn, because it creaked when he left. It didn't creak anymore, so he thought it was another dimension and left. What he didn't know, was that someone had just come and fixed that hinge... After that, in the shows I saw, he never got home again.
Anyway, I have a feeling the show on on the BBC got axed before it was axed in the US. So I didn't see the complete recasting, maybe for the better. ;)

In the third season, Quinn, at least, actually did get home again. Unfortunately he had Maggie in tow, and his dimension was somehow poisonous to her, so he had to return to her dimension. ::) Then wackiness insued to ensure the Sliders couldn't return again... at least, not anytime soon. No idea what happened in the fourth and fifth seasons.

Dang, Sliders sounds frustrating. :P Especially with those tantalizing episodes where they are so close but they leave anyway. :P

I watched Sliders from the beginning to the end and enjoyed it (except for the season with new cast :-\, it sucked)

They should release them on DVD and Video in boxsets ;)

Quote from: Storm on February 13, 2004, 07:37:26 PMWhy must they always keep riding a dead horse instead of just giving us a nice final episode with some CLOSURE??  :o
Anyone watch Farscape? >:(

I didn't :-X

One of the few show that DID have closure is Star Trek: Deep Space 9. That's one of the reasons why Star Trek is vastly superior to all other SF shows  ;)

Well, vastly superior to all of them except Babylon 5, anyway. ;) (Which also had closure, planned closure, even.)

Anyhoo. I agree the Foundation series rocks. But they don't really have the complete effect unless you read the *entire* Foundation series, as well as the "Caves of Steel" series with Elijah Bailey, and the original "I, Robot" short stories with Susan Calvin, et al. Unfortunately while I believe "I, Robot", the "Caves" novels, and most of the Foundation novels are still in print, the last few Foundation novels are not, AFAIK.

My thoughts exactly!  :D

I never watched Babylon 5, but I was told it is excellent.  I ought to get a hold of a season (if they've been released) once I'm back home after this semester.

Say, you read "The foundation"? I admire you!! IIRC, it was so boring I could barely make it through the first book, not to mention the rest of them. The fact that besides the general idea I can't even remember what it was about shows more than anything how much it didn't appeal to me  :-\
...Or was it the fact that I wasn't sure about the order of the books that made me give up on reading them? I should try reading them when I get the time... maybe in a couple of years ;)

OMG I KNOW! and Im not sure about the books either (since there are so many fundations' book I dont know which comes first to be honest), so there are some events that from my point of view they were a bit random for me ( I read "The Foundation" only ), it took me a while to read it I must admit, cuz I do admire Isaac Asimov more for who he was more than what he wrote :P it is such a core heavy science fiction material but ugh, hahaha to the point of bore me to death! but I was so so curious I did give it a try there was another one I did read but to be honest I cant even remember the title right now (that only shows you how much I liked it :P) to be honest they are GOOD, it is beautiful how they asumed things and how they put on things on perspective and asimov has this... fantasy to all that that really spices it up even though it remains soooo scifi :P

Quote from: Jeysie on February 22, 2004, 08:48:31 PMYou could just start simple, with the I, Robot stories... especially the ones with Donovan and Powell.

Done that already :D I like short stories  ;)
