I can't think of nothing in purpose. I just have random thoughts when I'm lying in bed and after a short while (unless I go to bed (too) early) I fall alspeep.
Sounds a bit like me... I'm almost never able to just think of nothing... my mind's always going full-speed.
I can't either... usually I don't need to try and think of nothing when I go to sleep. I only have to do that if I'm not particularly tired

Sure, you think of stuff all the time, but the secret is not to dwell on anything. If a thought comes to your mind, you don't concentrate on it but let go when you exhale, and with every breath you say the word "nothing" in your mind. After a while, you get so bored you fall asleep
Luckily for me no smoking at home and no smoking at work. And when I'm in the vicinity of a smoker, it doesn't take me long to locate him/her. I'm not very fond of cigar-(ette) smoke.
One of the perks of moving out of my mom's house was being able to live in a smoke-free house finally.
My mother would never let anyone smoke in the house... even when she herself smoked (she quit years ago) she wouldn't do it in the house. Otherwise she'd never get the smell out of the curtains

I don't let anyone smoke in my place either... I can't stand it even if I just walk behind someone who smokes on the street
