Thinking and walking is a different story altogether, though. :P

Hee. I actually think best while moving... in fact, if I'm stationary and I start thinking, I will start walking around... and if I'm already walking around, I'll start walking faster. Drives people nuts. ;)

I used to read and walk at the same time, but I had to stop because I kept nearly getting hit by cars.  :-[

You must be bumping into lampposts and stuff regularly then. :P
I was once driving my bike and got lost in thoughts so badly I missed the spot where I had to take a left turn but kept following the bicycle road. ;P

Yeah, I had my days in high school where I forgot what day of the week it was and went to the wrong class. ;)

LOL, I almost did that back in September.  Then a friend stopped me and was like "Dude, the class is that way!"  ::)

It wasn't exactly thinking involved, but... I remember one day I got so caught up in talking to some of my friends while walking along inside my school, that I managed to smack full-force into one of my school's support pillars in the middle of the hall. Not only was it embarrassing, but it hurt something nasty. :P

Ouchy! :P

That reminds me....

One time I was trying to see if I could "will" my way through an object, so I closed my eyes and pretended fervently that it wasn't there. At one point I was in a dreamlike state and I was thinking of anything but the parked car in front of me that I was walking towards slowly. I even forgot that I was walking at all!

...didn't work though, I *still* bumped into the car at some point. ;)

Maybe it's kind of like flying in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? The trick isn't to pretend the car isn't there, it's to be completely and totally unaware the car is there?

Oldbushie

Hehe, yeah. ;D The trick is to throw yourself at the car and miss. ;)

I've bumped into several small pavement objects while talking, or narrowly avoided them, but cars are usually big enough for me to catch my eye, and pillars too. I also miss (small) steps once in a while, so I tumble forward, but until now, I've always managed to just keep my balance. IIRC. 8)
