Stage Managing, eh? I guess that puts you in the field of theatre, eh? I find that immensely cool...eh. I happen to be an actor. Being a stage manager is a tough job. To this day I'll never understand how people can actually want to do it.

As for me, I picked story writing, for obvious reasons. At best I'm decent at art, I can play the drums but couldn't work MIDI to save my life, and to top it all off programming and graphical design are two languages my brain is unable to learn. It just ain't happenin'.

For you and me, my brother, there is good wine poured in the inn at the end of the world.

Well, yeah, but I can't actually create anything. It's not anywhere near as interesting. :(

Did you find my luggage?

I bet it ended up in the same place as all the Left Socks Put in the Dryer.

Lost socks? Perhaps we should start a lost & found thread.

EXAMPLE:
I've lost my sanity (don't worry it was a while back)

I've found a job that takes me away from posting on this forum and generally being geeky on the net as much as I want!

Whoever finds my sanity or wants my job should be in touch right away... What else has been lost around here?  :D

what kind of programmer? ...guess I'm not really specialised. I've programmed in a few languages (VB(A, 6.0, .NET), JAVA, C++(liked this one the best))

My remark about my programming skills (whether or not it would be a strong suit) was primarily made because all my friends don't think that programming is something positive ; /

You gotta be creative! This is where you start pulling out examples of how programming is important, from the obvious things like computers and the Internet, to things like air traffic control, space travel, and 911 emergency response systems. Computers are everywhere, and you can't do much with a computer until somebody programs something for it. :)

So true Jeysie, it is everywhere and it is an important part as well. That means I dont believe I agree with your friends Brr, geez, I believe programming is as important as anything else, part of many features and sometimes without it, things just wouldnt work! haha as simple as that :P

OMFG I think I r going to callz ya grrz ;p sounds secsay! ;D hahaha :) :D, so far I must admit its one of the cutest/original names in our members list ;P

Jeysie & Say you're totally true, I agree on the importance of programs (and thus programmers (that makes me kind of important too, ...right? )), although I wonder sometimes how it would be like without them... ; \

Yeah, that would be cool wouldn't it? ..Well perhaps not cave-time, but I do think that ppl are far too dependent on computers nowadays... wait if I start to go on like this I'm going to get unemployed ; /

I definately agree about Mike! we've all seen his wonderful work... is there anything this guy CAN'T do?  ;D

I can't program to save my life ;).  Oh, and don't ask me to write lyrics for a song - they'll come out sounding like some 14 year old school girl's/boy's diary entry -

I love her so,
I want her to know,
She is my star,
she shines so far.
She makes me smile,
for awhile,
when I'm with her.
But my smile fades,
when she's away,
I really miss her.

Pretty pathetic, really :P.

Thank you all for your lovely compliments!  You just made my day! :D

I'm not sure it's so much that it's bad to depend on computers, as it is that we're so used to depending on computers that we no longer see the value in learning the "old-fashioned" way of doing things as a fall-back measure. Sometimes a little skepticism and mistrust can be healthy.
