I love non-Myst style adventure games... I swear, it's the genre I was born to play... it suits my style perfectly. Naturally, it's also a genre that's no longer commercially viable. Story of my luck.

RPGs come in second, although so far I've only found 3 PC RPGs that hold my interest.

I chose all of the above :D
And thats because i enjoy a variety ;D, i remember at school when ten students hooked up over the school network and we played against each other in Quake 3 Arena ;)

It was cool, you were brought to life and 5 seconds later you had been shot to death :suffer:

Since Action/Adventure wasn't up (games like Zelda, Starfox Adventures, Beyond Good and Evil), I chose my 2nd favorite next to that, RPGs.

I'm not really a gamer per se, but I went with Adventure.  I was addicted to a first person shooter two years ago, but those games tend to make me feel dizzy after a while.   8)

Adventure ofcourse. I have a tendency to feel sick when playing fps-type games. I used to have no trouble playing them several years ago, but now I get bad headaches if I play them for a certain amount of time. And trust me, it's not that long until my head hurts. I can even get a headache from just watching it.

Is it motion-sickness? I've heard of people who get motion-sick from playing almost any 3D games, but especially action ones. (Strangely enough, even though I get motion-sick riding on cars, or buses, or amusement park rides, etc., video games never bother me.)

Storm

I don't get motion-sickness if I'm sitting still... what does bother me about FPS's is that I tend to die so much I get bored of them really fast. Come to think of it, I get bored of them really fast whether I die or not  :P

I don't really get motion sickness in cars, buses, etc.  unless I'm reading something.

I don't know if it's motion sickness or what, it's just all the sudden movements, constant motion and room spinning around gets to me after a bit.  I think if I played them more often I wouldn't feel dizzy.  :P

Gotta go with RPG, cause those are the only games I play anymore. Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy... uhh, more Final Fantasy...  ::)

btw about the motion sickness I only get it after 4 hours playing lol, but there is a disclaimer on all those games that say you shouldnt play them for over an aprox amount of time and such :D, have you ever noticed that? I do know all my lara croft cd books say something about that

Yeah, it has something to do with the detrimental effects of the screen refreshing so fast.

I heard some kids got seizures because of these things. Or was it the pokemon movie?  :P

IIRC, I think it was some 3D Pokemon kiddie show that had a flashing red light or something. ;D

Yeah it was an episode of the pokemon series aired only in Japan (thank god if it was in the US Nintendo would have empty pockets now :D) that featured Pikachu shocking something for 10 seconds and 20 kids had seizures over it.

Oh and for the record, Pokemon rocks  8)

I'm guessing it has something do with the fast motion, not motion as much. Also, when I'm in a moving vehicle, I have to watch outside, I can't read anything inside, because that'll invoke headache too. Amusement park rides are no biggie, except for those going upside down, no matter which way (looping or corkscrew). If they do that, I get a headache. If they stay upright all the time, they can do all they want, I won't get a headache. I can play an rpg or an adv as long as I like, I won't get a headache from that either. Normally, stroboscopic effects don't bother me either.
