;D Both series have fans that span the globe, but I have always wondered which series is more loved by people.  Personally, both series are special to me as they were the first computer games I ever played.  They are responsible for me getting into writing fiction as well.  The games took me to far off places and I try to create similar effects in my writings.

Does anyone else feel this way about these games?

Interesting question; this is more of an "off topic" kind of thread though. Yonkey! We got a moving job for ya!

And I'm torn on what to decide for the question itself!!  :-\

I also like both KQ and QFG... but KQ is my favorite  8)

KQ is my favorite also, QFG is more of a side-runner. It has interesting humor, but the whole "fighting random enemies" thing kinda detracts slightly from it.

you would be amazed if you knew about me!, Im not a huge fan of KQ perse but Im a KQ9 groupie that is :P
so, personally speaking, I must admit QFG in general terms has more of a emotional feeling to myself, hence I did get to play it more than KQ itself.

Why did I read that as GK, not QfG? duhhh  ::)

in which case, my answer is KQ all the way!! I only *really* played QfG 4, which was great, still haven't finished though. But I've played all KQs through, usually more than once.

I've never played any QFG game before, so I'm gonna go with KQ.   ;D

I go with KQ, but I think that as a general thing, QfG has more fans than KQ. I could be wrong.

Of course, in this place, you'll get KQ fans ;)

I never played QFG...but I know people who have and they all liked KQ more.

Cesar, you really think QfG has more fans? I wouldn't say so, I think KQ is by far better known than QfG is.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with the last statement. I hadn't heard of QFG until a year ago. It didn't look as interesting so I decided not to play the Tierra remake.

I like QFG even though I don't usually like advneture games where you have to fight. The battles there are like RPG, that is, require no hand-eye coordination, only the frantic crunching of keys ;) That is, except for QFG4, where I'm yet to figure out how the battle interface works :P and QFG5, where I couldn't even fight my way out of the demo  :-[

I haven't played QFG in years. I'm pretty sure the one I played was 1. I think my dad borrowed a disk or something for installation and then returned it, and in the Great Computer Crash of '98 it got lost. I remember the last place I was was near a waterfall.

Does anyone know a place online where I can download it? I'd like to play it again.

QFG has a category on fanfiction.net and KQ doesn't. Maybe that says something?

it would be not very wise for me to make general statments but as far as I've known , but it is probably from where you see it? I do know where I live QFG is waaaaay more popular than KQ, I say KQ here and everyone goes like... what? lol or even worse the few ones that did play it were KQ3 or KQ2 or something (only) :P

I just say it because of the number of games about QfG. They are more popular than KQ. Also, Sierra made their decisions of making a QfV because of the fans.

Yeah, I now agree with Cesar, as I was looking at the KQ VGA/Tierra forums and out of 150 votes, QFG recieved like 60ish percent for the best adventure game. Then again....150 isn't 1000, and 1000 isn't 10,000, etc.

I think KQ has more fans, but the QfG fans are more devoted to the series(on average).
