If there's a chessgame for the player to play (and I hope there is), there'll probably be a dialog, "Do you wish to skip this game?  Yes, No," and if you click "No," you do not get the points for playing the game, but if you click "Yes," then you must win the chessgame to continue.

It would be nice if there were be different rules for "Kings Quest Chess," but I doubt that that will be the case.

I don't think they'll go for something as ordinary as a regular chess game. There will have to be some twist to it

Maybe trapped squares?  If you put a piece on a certain square, the square flips over and your piece disappears or something.  EEEP!  Chess is too complicated for me without that!
