the Green Isles, really. Lots of variety in a nice set of islands. And that cool map!  :o

I kinda liked that whole land of Etheria (that was its name, right?) in KQ7... Having Nightmare's and Wind Creature flying around a surreal environment... very creative :)

I don't debate, I ramble with STYLE!

My favourites are probably:
Tamir - in my eyes, it has a perfect balance of eerie and beautiful.  <3
Daventry - it just strikes me as a wonderful place to live (when it's not being destroyed by an evil dragon, of course!).  ;)

Tamir is wierd, kinda dark. Good areas there are: The witches cave, the graveyards/haunted house, the ogre's house, and the killer trees. Can't compare to Ooga Booga though.

So righteous in our blood.
It looks so tarnished in our eyes,
Yet so afraid of...

Fading into nothing,
Fading into nothing.
Just a trace of light
That burns within our thoughts... "

If you're drawn strictly to the spookiness, then I agree.  :)  But I like the combination of spooky and beautiful that Tamir has.  Genesta's island, the flowery meadows, the pool, the pond, the dwarves' house, the trees, water and streams, and the dark but vibrant colours are all things that strike me as beautiful about it.

I really liked The Land of The Green Isles and Serenia... I also liked Tamir, but something about a land with a circular map makes it a bit less realistic ;)

I like to think that each screen of the games is just a suggestion of what the land would 'actually' look like, i.e. that if they were real, the scale and distance between each screen would be much greater, with landscape 'filler' between a lot of them.  But walking through trees for several minutes at a time doesn't suit the pace of a game very well.   ;)

The 'wraparound' deal with several of the King's Quest lands can be taken two ways, I think.  First, of course, as a shortcut for the player to get to certain screens quickly without constantly doubling back, while assuming that if it were a 'real' land the looparaound would not occur.  Or, as I prefer to believe, ;) taken as something that really does occur 'naturally', even though our earthly logic tells us such a phenomenon is not possible - the rules are different in the world of Daventry!  It's sort of similar in a way to those 'lost' areas that appear in a lot of games where you can't get out by doubling back the way you came, and end up stuck wandering an area that is the same no matter where you go.

Regarding Cedric, I really <3 him too!!  :D  But not the voice they gave him!  :P :X ;)
