Yes they would. Since the thread title only mentions Mask of Eterntiy, an unsuspecting KQ[insert number]-hater could wander into this thread and suddenly bump upon a post containing that horrendous curse!

I just went to amazon.com and nearly everybody gave kq8 5 out of 5. It was sickening.

It is a great game, may not be your classic King's Quest style of adventure, but it was a great game. Why else was it a nominee for Best Adventure Game that year?

Most likely because, quite frankly, there weren't a lot of mainstream company adventure games that year. (Most the adventure titles I see for that year came out from small-ish companies, that didn't get a lot of air-time outside the die-hard adventure game fandom.)

If it make y'all feel better, Mobygames readers are a bit harsh on the game.
