Apple IIgs versions of early King's Quest games

I'm sure a topic has been posted about these before, but watching a load of King's Quest-related YouTube videos had me stumble upon some videos which allow us the pleasure of listening to the Apple IIgs versions of the music in KQI-III.  Not only is the quality greatly improved, but sometimes there's even exclusive music to that platform only!  There are also some sound effects as well which are quite interesting.

My particular favourite is the rendition of the opening sequence of KQIII; it's so haunting and beautiful, as well as the rendition of Greensleeves for the title screen in KQII (there's a completely different tune for the title in KQI!).

To be honest, I didn't even know that kings quest was released for apple platforms... If I had access to YouTube and speakers right now, I would give them a listen. Thankfully, i'm getting out of school early today (thank you snow storm!) so I can listen to them in only a few short hours... The music in kings quest has always been very good. Some video games don't use music to the effect that kings quest does, which is a shame. I've actually got some of the music on my iPod...

I definitely agree, and I have the entire KQ6 and KQ7 soundtracks on my iPod!  I just thought that these definitely added a new atmosphere to the games (since the sound quality is better than that what we're used to) which just makes them almost feel like different games!  Hope you both get to listen to these soon!

The KQ series really is great with using music to its advantage, and a lot of games could really learn from it.

Yeah, the music in King's Quest has always been good, and even fan games have high quality music. A game is great with a plot, but music really helps set the atmosphere of a scene and set the mood. KQ, compared to other games, has always outdone itself in the music department. It's rare that I want a video game soundtrack on my iPod...
