So, this thread is for all of us (especially those of us who play it) to talk about WoW.

I know in another thread we'd mentioned the possibility of a TSL guild, anyone still game that?

Awwww whyyy??

I haven't quit, but I've always been pretty casual and lately I've been super casual (mostly because the most active players in my main's guild are my evil ex and the guy he dumped me for... >:()

Realised it was actually quite a boring ga'e in the end, 'ainly because there was not 'uch to do to 'ake 'y character any better/stronger.

Yeah, ditto. There's tons to do, and if you get bored with one toon you just make another one! It's not just about bettering your toon, there's so much you can do -- achievements, quests, raids, PvP, raid-quests, dragon-hunting, RP, player fairs... so many options!

Ok, Cenarion Circle but Horde or Alliance? And what do you like about it?

I also have toons on Silvermoon, which I enjoy. I find the random players I run into on that server are a lot nicer than they are on any other server I have toons on.

Alliance. And I like it because Erik and I are both on it :P Actually we ended up on it because my free trial put me there and I love my character (Fayre) and if we tried moving to Feathermoon (Erik's old server), the name wasn't available there.

Oh, so that's all? Try moving to Silvermoon! :P

I like Alliance because I feel like, with the exception of the Blood Elves, there's not as much "variety" in how you can look. Whereas, in all of the Alliance races, I feel like they have a lot more differences, y'know?

I was just looking through my WoW app on Facebook (the official one from the Armory!) and I noticed... I have tons of friends playing WoW... and most of them are Horde.... and not one of them plays on the same server as another one. :P

In the end there is not that 'uch to do though, when RP gets lesser, you run out of achieve'ents to do, your Gladiator ranked pvp tea' gets disbanded just before the season ends and you nearly got best in slot gear. So I stopped 25'an raiding well before 3.3, joined a social guild and just let 'y ga'e ti'e end (not sure what you 'ean with dragon-hunting and player fairs)

I could start a new toon, but I already played 'ost classes at 'ax level and never felt the urge to gear the' up and far' content for the' when I already been through that on 'y 'ain. I just play the' to get to know the class, their 'echanics and supply 'y 'ain with herbs/ore/leather/etc

You never went dragon-hunting? Basically, you and a team of however many you can get together go looking for the World Dragons til you've managed to kill them all. It takes a LONG time but if you devote a Saturday to it, it's a pretty good way to spend the weekend.

And a player fair (that's what I call them anyways) is when you get a whole bunch of players together for a player-made festival.
You can have tonk battles, crashin' racers races, costume contests, picnics (people with bountiful feasts or whatever they're called set them out, and people with brewmaidens set them out, so much fun!), and you can have somebody set out a pet skunk and somebody else set out a pet Bombay for some entertainment. Not to mention all kinds of other contests -- we've had scavenger hunts, trivia, dice games....
And of course, you can also set it up as a sort of "player market" where people see what they can trade.
And you can always do a parade. Our record for longest parade went from Westfall through Stormwind to Darnassus, around Darnassus and then back south to Ratchet (we took a short break to obliterate Crossroads :P), and random people joined in when they saw us passing by. We cheered, we waved, we made up songs. Good times!

See, how can you say you ran out of things to do? The possibilities are simply endless!

Ahh, then I have been dragonhunting, yus, Killed all green dragons and Azurgos 'ultiple ti'es with a friend, like every few days for al'ost half a year, they had the highest droprate on the last enchant i needed to get all enchants inga'e (I was kind of a co'pletist >.>)

After that I got the enchant I never went and look for the' any'ore, just killed Doo'walker and Doo' Lord Kazzak every few days for so'e gold, since the first was soloble and the other one we could kill with the two of us.

As for "player fairs", attended a few, they were fun indeed. 'ostly RP events.

On WoW Insider once they were talking to a guild about all the games they played as a guild. One was where everyone dressed up in Wedding clothes and lined up by the big elevator in Thousand Needles (forget it's name) and take turns jumping off the cliff with slowfall to try and land in the circles they marked at the bottom. :P

OMG! That sounds awesome, I wanna play!!!

Though it reminds me of an incident in our guild that has gone down in infamy.
See, my evil ex (we were together at the time) and I had started these toons to level together and they were about... level 40 I think, but the higher level guildmates were helping us out.
One, a level 80 mage, was escorting us to the Shimmering Flats in Thousand Needles. We got on the elevator.... except the level 80 mage, who tried to jump onto the elevator while on horseback, missed, sailed over our heads and out of sight.... and promptly died. You could almost hear the "SPLAT!"

Who says there's no flying mounts on Kalimdor? :P

LOTRO player myself, due to friends playing it. However, even if they were to ask me to join them in WoW, they'd get a big fat NO now.

That's what made it so funny, Rob! She had slow fall, she just completely failed to use it. :P

CC, I have heard good things about LOTRO but I don't know anyone (except you) who plays it. I'm assuming that big fat "NO" is because of the C&D? I don't blame you, but I was already paid for this month. :P

You can always try LOTRO out for 14 days, IIRC. Actually, that's the only inscription-type game I own (and play). Due to my adventure background I wasn't really into RPG, so naturally online RPG's you had to pay for every month were nowhere on my list. Then 'Guild Wars' came along...
Yes, cray, it's (also) because of the C&D WoW, and naturally, because I'm still 'into' LOTRO and I only intend to play one inscription-type game a month (even though I now purchase 2-month inscription-cards for LOTRO).

There's the rub, I have a Mac and the only MMORPG that's high fantasy and works on Macs.... is WoW! :(

A' the sa'e as CC actually, decided not to play 'ore then one subscription-ga'e-thingy, else it gets out of control too fast and I do not have ti'e to play 'ore then one anyways.

However, never felt that any ''orpg could really co'pete with WoW. they 'ight see' better at so'e parts but 'ost that I know that tried those ga'es ca'e back to WoW eventually anyways...

I really enjoyed Vanguard: Saga of Heroes when I beta tested it. Unfortunately, after they released it the servers balked under the stress of too many players and all kinds of things went wrong. I've heard they've fixed a lot of that though, so that may be one to check out if you're looking for another game, Rob.

The neatest part of that game, for me, was that you didn't have to adventure. There were just as many diplomacy and harvesting/crafting quests, so you could really do any of the three full time if you chose to. Of course, I'm a completionist so I was doing all three. :P

Anyways, for those of us who DO play WoW, I thought I'd mention that one of my friends on Argent Dawn and I were just discussing creating a roleplaying guild. If ya'll might be interested. We're leveling some characters right now so we can help new toons level quickly when we get it up, but I didn't know if any of you would be interested in that.
