I got hit directly into my left eye at work. Just imagine some punk slammed your head down on a pool table, took a pool stick and smashed it directly into your eye without braising your cheek or anything. I got 5 dents in my eye, double vision now and my eye has deviated 35 degrees off center. When I look in the mirror, I feel like I look retarded to people cuz my eyes are all over the place. (excuse the political correctness btw if that is offensive to anyone). I have to wear these special glasses to see straight but it blurs my vision and it involves using a prism so I have spent the last year seeing rainbows everywhere I go. Sigh.
How did that happen? I'm so sorry to hear that. It sounds so very unpleasant.

I have doctors who can exert a huge amount of pressure on other doctors and make me sound sufficiently pitiable that I was offered a surgical appointment five days after seeing the specialist who wants to perform it for the first time. I didn't take it, but I still only had to wait a month. It always shocks me to hear about people who have to wait months and months for non-elective surgeries.
wow Deloria you have both? That's awful. Hopefully this will improve your day to day health. How often do you have the attacks?
About twice an hour on a really good day and several dozen per hour on a really bad. As far as PCOS goes though, I don't look androgynous, have excessive acne or am overweight, so at least you can't physically tell by looking at me. The reason for the surgery is that I have a retroverted uterus with extreme mobility (hence the tightening/shortening of the ligaments) so it tends to cause contractions and really hurt quite badly whenever I physically exert myself and it bumps into another organ, which means near-constant bedrest.
