I want to be in your math class! (Though, having completed calculus and differential equations, I'm probably overqualified. )

-finishing up research projects: tomorrow is the last day I can report for pay...and I have a feeling it WON'T be the last day I report

-chatting with people A LOT and enjoying it immensely

-needing to get trip plans finalized and dealt with tres vite

-now wishing the extensions in Open Office worked everywhere so I could type things with the proper diacritics

-not getting some things I should be because the friend I'm travelling with is relatively unreachable

-Feeling lazy and stupid from having an earlier migraine (they screw with my head, I slur my words and act all dumb whenever I get one.  I seriously act like I'm drunk, but in pain. )

There is. There's actually the possibility of a publication in both labs and the possibility that my code will be used in the labs on other projects. I don't know about biophys, but in numrel, if that should happen, I would likely get my name on those papers or be cited in them.

There is. There's actually the possibility of a publication in both labs and the possibility that my code will be used in the labs on other projects. I don't know about biophys, but in numrel, if that should happen, I would likely get my name on those papers or be cited in them.

Sweet! Of course, professors can dangle the possibility of a publication in front of you to get you do to stuff for free... Maybe it's convenient that you'll be out of the country! (Not that they can't get you to do stuff remotely... )

-wanting to stab someone... dunno why...

-only just realizing that since there is no meeting this afternoon for numrel, I don't have to work like crazy to get some stuff done...

-wondering how many parameters I'd need to find for a tanh-fit of the frequency data (a general sigmoidal shape requires 4 )

-further wondering why the MATLAB fitting toolbox gives a straight line for the fit even though it has a sigmoid equation programmed in and a sigmoid would be a MUCH better fit (I know it has something to do with how MATLAB decides when to stop looking for parameters... I'm just not sure what/where that is... )
