-Being sooo annoyed and shocked that idiots are still idiots and that said idiot still has no self-respect whatsoever.
-Watching what little faith I had left in humanity crumble as she continues to do more idiotic things.

I should clarify: An extremely pretty acquaintance of mine has questionable taste in men, to the degree that she's *still* dating an illegal immigrant who makes minimum wage, is nine years older than she is (at 18), and has cheated on her repeatedly, as well as publicly insulted/humiliated her, stolen from her, treats her horribly in public if potential future conquests are around, and is borderline emotionally abusive (it's *her* fault he cheated). They've now been together for over a year and it's always been like that. Her reason? She finds him incredibly attractive and she can't bear the thought of not being his arm-candy and the thought that he'll be with someone else. She spends most of her time in tears after talking to him or being with him. She keeps coming to her senses, breaking up with him, and then taking him back in a matter of days.

I *really* didn't miss the drama.

Oh I hope she finds someone better. Parts of that are all too familiar to me. I was with an emotionally abusive s/o (although he will NEVER admit that he was). My heart aches for her. It's hard to get away but it can be done. You can't just snap your fingers and be done with it. Eventually (hopefully) the person realizes they can do better and stuck to their guns. I sure did. and I will get off my soapbox now.

-balking at bash... it has now decided that throwing scrambled bits of the script back at me constitutes a cogent error message
-finding that nothing I do changes the error message
-wanting to go home... 
-not finding much help... the internet seems to indicate that the code should run as is... as do tests of version dependent features run from the command line... my office mates don't use bash apparently

-debugging
-finding things "curiouser and curiouser" ( Lewis Carroll): after eliminating 1 error message (unexpected end of line) which was in retrospect simply something I was ignorant of in terms of how bash works (yay! bash OOP... -_-), it now tells me that there is a different unexpected end of line... on a line that doesn't exist (it's beyond the end line of the script in question)

-feeling like I'm ready to start pulling my hair out...
-feeling wrecked from TKD last night (sore, sore, sore EVERYWHERE!)

(the lights in the room are controlled by motion sensors, but there isn't one over my desk, so I have to throw my hand up over my shoulder each time the lights turn off... I have taken to throwing the hand up in a scolding fashion (wagging finger))

I throw my hands up in the air sometimes. Saying "aye, yo. Baby let's go.". Don't get me wrong, I want to celebrate and live my life. But we gon' rock this club. We gon' go all night. We gon' rock this club like it's dynamite.

-debating whether or not I should say: "sure, I'll present at this meeting that's in 6 days, that has no details on the time or place posted online, that has no information about accommodation, etc., and that is further away than Dublin and technically in the UK..." ...I kind of want to, but it would seem all practical signs point to "no".

-needing to write an IDL program... (I've been writing so much bash lately... it feels like I've forgotten all of my other programming languages)

-still being annoyed at something suggested at the Capoeira workshop this weekend (apparently, if you want to be a "good Capoeirista", you should learn Portuguese... and give in to guilt trips from your instructors: sorry, guys, but my mom is better at those than you... it didn't work when she tried either, or else I wouldn't even be here... ...also, guys, I'm working on 7 languages at the moment... Portuguese can wait its turn, but it'll be a bit ...and they wonder why they have low student retention   )
