POS had Peter Spear in for a live chat.
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

That's incredible! I wish I had been following this project for a longer time.

I remember the live chat event. There was a lot of people there. I recall Roberta and Ken Williams on the live chat as the special guests. I vaguely remember Peter Spear there, but then again, that chat was blazing pretty fast at the rate people were commenting.  :P

I talked a few times, but I didn't have much to say, so I mostly just read the conversations and waited for the trailer to be released.

Isn't it a generally frowned-upon practice in an online forum?

Yeah, pretty much.  ::)

I'm glad I brought it back up though, because I've learned a lot from this thread.

Nothing wrong with bring back past articles. Our very own Archaeologist/King's Quest fan, Baggins will tell you how important it is to rummage through the countless pages of threads to bring back 'lost history'.  ;D

I don't know some forums get mad if you try to create a new discussion based on a past topic. They often include "search function" to help users find topics that match whatever they want to discuss...

Guess it just depends on the forum.

Huh, I didn't know that. This is pretty much the only forum I've ever been active on. It seems very odd that people wouldn't want to discuss the past - unless you were bringing up an old nasty debate or something. Or maybe something almost nobody currently on the forum would care about. :-\

I think it depends on the topic and how long it's been, too. Like if right now someone started another thread on this same topic? Then we'd probably say, hey, look around a little, we're already talking about that over, and then link them to this one. Likewise with Tech Support topics, FAQs, etc. But something that was from years ago, and that may have new information available now, that's a different story.

It's an infamous trait on GameFAQs. But that site is known for having all sorts of people come out of the woodwork. So what ever may seem "wrong" about digging up an old thread to the standards of GameFAQs, probably implies there is nothing wrong with it at all.

Cez, any examples of things you saw?

Design docs for KQ5, 6 and 7, a lot of the art for the different games, stuff Jane had sent him about the background of King's Quest 6. Memory is a bit foggy but I was like a kid in a candy store at his place!

What precious documents! It's so incredible you got to see them.

Hmm, if you ever get in contact with him again, let him know we would love some digital archive of those treasures ;).

I sensed the irony as I was typing it out, but I have no clue how else I could say it. The people at GameFAQs are a weird bunch.  :-\
